Holy mother of ____!
So excited!
NYTimes has an article on Jay DeMerit today. You know all the stuff int he article already, but it's nice to see it presented to the American public for a change. Soccer gets NO love inthe mainstream media here.

This is the the team we've been expecting to see since the 2006 World Cup started.
ATTACK! Let's see what Dunga does to adjust.
The second half will be a blizzard..!

He and the US are doing very well.
Brazil are just trying to score from long range/wide positions which shows how comfortable the US have been or maybe Brazil lacking ideas.
Excellent 2nd goal on the counter.

Donovan is a brilliant player. His finish for that 2nd goal was fantastic. I'd love to see him come and properly crack European football, think he'd make a real impact for a biggish club now.

Agreed, super finish.
Jay's having a stormer, despite getting turnt inside out for the goal, he's made one or two great interceptions in the last few minutes.

Clock killing time...
Now Brazil is back in full effect, and the US's passing looks amateurish in response. Not good.

..and time.
3 Brazil goals I expected.
2 US goals I did not.
US needs help with their fitness and the depth and/or training of the subs leaves something to be desired.
Disappointing.

Still a very good effort overall by the US Fitz, they weren't even expected to get through the group stage so to finish runners up is great going.
