Brilliant result - In the 80's we got to the the final 3 times (Tom Walley was great) but it seems so much harder now, even with our academy, as the top clubs sign the best British youngsters before they get to be u18s e.g. Harry Forrester, Chris Eagles and they also sign the best foreign youngsters. So reaching the last 8 is a fantastic achievement. Well done boys now put it up Chelski.

http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/forum/...barcelona.html

Their head youth honcho was poached from Barcelona too!

Reading their match report it sounded like the score should have been 3-4 rather than 0-1. Many missed chances.

Great result. If we can stay in the division for the next two or three seasons we could have some gems on their way to the first team.

Or on their way to premier league reserve teams for peanuts.

Oshodi was outstanding for instance tracking back on Ince and making vital interceptions.

Mingoia was outstanding too. Clever use of space and keeping the ball against bigger physical opponents.

Whichelow did get caught in posession at times and both fulllbacks Angus and Yiadom were defensively minded.

Bond made a couple of very good punches missed one and was commanding.

hez Isaac missed two great chances one at the end to seal it but some of the play was impressive.Very slick passing and good defensive unit work.

Warburton has them well coached.

The LFC commentators were surprised but then again with some of the kids results it should not be. At times Liverpool were resorting to hopeful long balls and it was us playing the neat technical football.

Nasty tackle on Angus at the end from Flanagan deserved a red card.

Chelsea are there for the taking.

From what I know about Mingoia he seems to have a lot of potential.

When I've seen him play for the reserves he looks a very good player, he has good strength despite his height, a good determination and work-rate, skill with the ball and the ability to score goals from the wings. He's a very intelligent attacking player and the goal he scored against Wycombe reserves last season was phenomenal, had great curl and power.

Sean Dyche speaks very highly of him as well. Mingoia is one I'm really looking forward to seeing develop. Hopefully he can stay grounded and develop at a good rate.
