    Default Ben Foster

It was reported in at least one of the Sunday papers that Man U in the market for another keeper.

So I was wondering if this might mean that Ben might be considered surplus to requirements.

Do you think it is possible that if Aidy were to put in a big enough bid, that Fergie might just let us have him?

Straight forward poll YES or NO

Seriously doubt it. We may get another year loan but a potential England keeper is gonna be out of our price range. Our only hope is that when his contract is up (end of next season I think) ManUre will not be able to offer him a guaranteed first choice position and he will follow his heart rather than his bank balance and sign for us.

To be fair the way Rich has performed this season, I no longer see securing Foster's services an essential requirement.

    NO

Ben foster is one of if not very close to being the best engish keeper at the moment. He is relatively young, and has all the characterisitcs to be world class. I cannot see Fergie letting him go, unless a truly world class keeper was to be signed by him.

One of the things to consider with Ben is how much practice he's getting with us! That's why he looks so good. He's probably let in more than any other keeper in the prem. I don't think he's as good as you think Al. He is good though and Fergie has let a lot of good keepers go over the years so I vote Yes

I don't think he is out of our price range at all.

Aidy said a long time ago he would pay up to 4 Million for the right player, and that was before the "CASH for ASH" was forthcoming.

So I think Aidy would pay even more now, and I'm sure Aidy would consider Ben to be "The Right Player"

Yes, hes let in a lot of goals, but that is because he is in the bottom of the league club, with the likes of damien francis in the same team.

He has argubly been our best player in the majority of games with the exception of 1 or 2 which ****tu/boozer/young have got.

Bens got very good reflexes, handleing, control of area, rushing out and everything, as a keeper he has not very many weak points at all.

Even if Fergie did say yes, I think Ben may not want to join us again anyway. There is no doubt that he enjoys it at Watford but surely if a big team came in for him he would choose to go there..?

Do I think Fergie will - No (so I voted no)

But in an ideal world would I like us to sign him? Yes.

well, he'd be in an environmet that he knows, where the fans love him, he knows the players, and the managers great. Yes, we may well get relegated, however there is every chance that we will go back up in the next few years, and can stay up. The reason he may choose another club is for the money (maybe not that much) but more likely, the fact that he is playing regular premiership football with the possibility of europe.

In an ideal situation, hew will go to bolton or everton for 5mil, be second team keeper for half a season, hand in a transfer request and we'll buy him for 1 mil

Keepers dont warrant a large transfer fee and the fact that manure are looking for yet another keeper suggests that they dont rate him as highly as we do..
I am wondering if this season hasnt in fact harmed his chances of getting the #1 jersey for england given the goals against ratio... in which case the price wont be extorbitant.
