I guess it's more of a story to the lad who ended up in hospital.. or to the police who have to work out what happened.

Thousands of people all across the country end up in hospitals every Saturday night and the police have to work out what has happened. I'm not interested in the majority of those stories either.

The injured claimant was injured on the back of the head, one can deduce my dear friends, that if the man was talking to Troy at the time of the incident, Troy would have been hard pushed to ascertain the adequate force and trajectory on the glass/bottle to inflict the injury to the rear of the cranium.

It is an elementary misconception that glasses and bottles are usually hit handheld over the head. Far more likely that the weapon was missile. Especially in this case where Troy was in a group of friends, One would consider that close quarter assault on a large group would entirely leave the individual exposed for retaliation and thus, as it is commonly known - "a right good kicking". It is my deduction therefore that a missile in the form of a bottle of becks, was thrown at Troy or one of his acquaintances, but ended up hitting the claimant on the back of the head.

    Elementary.

Ha! I don't normally read your comments anymore as you are so tediously repetitive and full of yourself i put you on ignore. But as you seemed to be posting closely behind me i figured you were responding to my posts & had a look.. and lo and behold i was right!

"I know differently"? That's rich coming from someone who see's himself as some sort of oracle on every subject from interior walling to Watford fc to football groundsmanship and the meaning of life!

PS As you know everything.. could you tell me the setting on here so you can't reply to any of my posts. Thanks in advance

Premiership footballer, with a previous conviction for violence, is involved in some sort of altercation in a club at 3am. Sorry but no matter who was the guilty parties here, that will always be a 'story' to the press.

Time to take off the Horns tinted glasses?
I know where you're coming from here, but the fact that hardly anything has been said about this just shows it's a non story. When I say hardly, I mean it relational terms. If it was really so bad, more news outlets, BBC sport, Sky Sports, my colleagues at work, other football forums etc. will all be talking about it.

I don't think its people wearing their yellow tinted glasses when they say it's a non story, they are saying it's a non story because there is literally no evidence to say otherwise. Even the club have said Troy has done nothing wrong. That would be a massively bold statement to make from a football club if they were not certain that Troy was an innocent party in all of this.

They're saying it's a non story because they don't believe he did anything wrong.

I'm saying it's a (tabloid) story because a famous footballer.. with a previous conviction.. has been somehow mixed up in a late night situation and has been filmed doing so. I'm not making assertions either way but to think of this as a 'non story' is a tad naive.

The Daily Mail have published an article seeming to give Deeney's view of the incident, though there are no direct quotes:

Want your footballers to be 'normal'? Well, just ask Troy Deeney

    Sums it up

Scum people acting like scum, causing trouble for people who just want to have a normal night out. We've all seen it ourselves hundreds of times on a Saturday night anywhere in the country, I can only imagine it must be 100 times worse for someone deemed 'famous'

Good on Troy for not reacting, must've been a difficult week with all the shyte that was going around on tw@tter/social media following the incidient.

Unfortunately going forward, he'll have to think twice about where he spends his nights out in future as there's some pretty scummy people out there that will no doubt see if they can get a reaction next time.

I think the fame thing is worse for footballers because of the rivalries. Where everyone knows Troy is a Brum fan it basically means half the people in Birmingham already hate him and there is always a small minority wanting to carry it to far.

I'm surprised that the police are still looking at the incident a week on if, by all accounts, it was a non event
Itís my opinion to which I am entitled. Not everyone is a brain dead sheep who agree with others to be popular.

I'd be particularly interested to know what PhilippineOrn and Hornpete have to say after reading that article given their suggestions that it was Deeney and his supposed issues with aggression and alcohol that were to blame for the incident.
