    Default Tales from the Vicarage

It's the start of a new season, time for a great new Watford FC book.

Tales from the Vicarage will be out in September.

Won't blather on about it here but it contains great original writing from a number of journalists who happen to be Watford supporters. Details here: www.lionelbirnie.com/books

If the admins want to get in touch, there'll be a competition for wfcforum users to win a copy.

No, Mr Moog. And if you want to email me lionel@lionelbirnie.com I will explain in full why. I doubt people here are interested in a long explanation of the ins and outs of Amazon's policy. Also, there are illustrations in the book that would not be reproduced very well electronically.

Yes, it's a stellar line-up. We've got Simon Burnton from the Guardian, Adam Leventhal from Sky Sports News has interviewed Rodgers and Mackay and has an interesting perspective on them and the legendary Oliver Phillips has written a new piece for the book.

Andrew French, the club's press officer during the late 90s and early 2000s has written a great inside account of the first season in the Premiership. Kevin Affleck's chapter simply has to be read by every Watford fan.

Then there's some really nice essays about the essence of being a fan from TalkSport's John Anderson and the author Tim Turner. Olly Wicken's fantastic imagining of GT's autobiography is extraordinary. I've probably forgotten something important there but there's some belting stuff.

    Hi Touching Cloth,

The 100 Greatest Watford Wins has completely sold out. Maybe a copy will turn up on eBay at some point?

I'm afraid not. FA Premier League licensing rules restrict use of photos taken after 1992. I printed as many as I could without the licence costs escalating to ludicrous levels. I tried to make it as clear as I could that it was limited edition and that once it had gone it had gone. Really sorry about that.

This book sounds great too, I really enjoyed Enjoy The Game. My only complaint is that you're publishing it after my holiday, sounds like ideal holiday reading material!!

If you're trying to get hold of a copy of The 100 Greatest Watford Wins, the Hemel Hempstead branch of Waterstone's has about 15 copies left, I gather.
