    Default Pre-season odds

I've been looking at promotion pre-season odds for a few weeks just to see where peolpe are putting their money. Quite short odds on Leicester getting promoted, which I think was the same last year. Is there a reason for this? They spent a lot last year and didn't get anywhere.

    These are from William Hill.

    Leicester 3
    Bolton 3.5
    Wolves 4
    Leeds 5
    Blackburn 5
    Cardiff 5
    Nottingham Forest 6
    Birmingham 6
    Blackpool 6.5
    Brighton 7
    Middlesbrough 7.5
    Sheff Wed 8
    Charlton 9
    Ipswich 9
    Watford 10
    Burnley 11
    Hull 13
    Huddersfield 15
    Derby 17
    Bristol City 17
    Millwall 21
    Crystal Palace 41
    Peterborough 67

But they are a big club and Garry Linekar used to play for them, they must get promoted.

Leicester will once again do nothing this season. Money is not equal to success.

Looking at the list though it is increasingly, to my eye, a league full of teams whose names wouldnt be out of place in the prem. I see it more like a premiership 2 each year, consider:

    Leicester
    Bolton
    Wolves
    Leeds
    Blackburn
    Nottingham Forest
    Birmingham
    Blackpool
    Middlesbrough
    Derby

10 fairly big (mostly northern) teams

And that is good odds on palarse, who always do better than expected eg: when they inevitably score 3 against us and beat us in the first game of the season.

Still at least they havent got Ambrose anymore, he can score his customary goal against us for Brum now.

Blackpool are a decent punt in my opinion. Play some lovely football and were unlucky not to go up last season.

I got 20/1 on Watford for promotion a couple of months back, returning £105. Also got 66/1 on Champions, returning £502.50. Still don't think either will happen, but it'll be bloody fantastic if it does!

Those are decimal odds, so that's just 9/1

You can get Iwelumo as top scorer at 100/1. Also, Deeney for top scorer at about 66/1. Terrible odds considering he'll have half a season.
