Federer wins...number 7 and probably more to come.

TBF Murray was quite emotional at the end.

Record equalling 7 time Wimbledon champion, a record 17 time grand slam champion, back to world number 1 ahead of 3 excellent players all at least 5 years his junior and will now also break the record for amount time at world number 1 as well.

There's not even an argument any more, Federer is indisputably the greatest tennis player of all time.

Murray was let down by too many poor 1st serves and not being able to give Federer the run around enough.

Federer was in a different class as soon as he won the 2nd set.

It must really bug Andy that his brother, Jamie, has won a Wimbledon title and he has not.

Federer was a class apart. Murray did play amazingly in the first set, but he couldn't maintain it and nobody could live with Federer in this form. He was inhuman.

I hope Murray takes heart from it and goes on to win a major soon. I was genuinely touched by his speech at the end.

It was a good game, nice to see Murray give it a good go but Federer was brilliant as always. Surely Federer has to go down as one of if not the greatest sportsmen of all time?

Heartening for us older members of this forum that both Wimbledon singles champions this year are in their 30s!

Great to watch the match live. The atmosphere was amazing. Hard on Murray, but he played his best. He can't have any complaints losing to a legend.
