IT'S THE EYE OF VYDRA AND THE THRILL OF THE FIGHT, STEPPING UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF OUR RIVALS.
The first time Deeney has scored in consecutive games for us. He continues to improve

Well you can thank a penalty for that...if we had consecutive penalties in the past, I'm sure it would have happened sooner....but I take your point and agree his scoring rate has improved although he still misses far too many chances for my liking. I'm sure we will get a new striker in the summer though, to help ease the burden of being the only regular goalscorer.

I know nobody here agrees with me but I maintain Murray is my player of the season. 16 games, 6 goals, several assists and only one defeat in the league when he's started.
Not a bad draw yesterday..we are limping slowly towards equalling or passing last season's points tally.
Kane posted a really good remark last night when he said Dyche seems to be a results manager..the performances aren't always as good as under MM but we are a lot harder to beat.
I really feel that by getting rid of a few players that aren't up to it, by trying our best to buyTK, and by recruiting well this summer, we have the potential to move from a mid table side, troubling neither the top nor the bottom, to one in the top 10 challenging for the play offs.
We are at a crossroads...

Hi mate, not seen you around for a while. I totally understand why fans would put Murray forward as he has been remarkable and he's certainly the player of "2012". But player of the season has to be over the entire season, and I think there can only be one winner...Marriappa. Murray will be Young Player of the Season of course though. With regards Dyche being a results manager, I think most only see Watford in home matches and the surface is so bad that Watford have to play to the conditions. I can tell you, the whole squad hate playing on it and believe me once the pitch has be relaid in the summer, you will see the football will improve and Watford will become more of a passing side. This is how Dyche would prefer to play.
I totally agree with your last sentence. This is how I see things regarding our progression during the summer months.

Managed to get to last nights game and was very impressed with the level of performance considering we've got nothing to play for. All credit to the management for motivating the players.
The play-acting by Brighton was embarrassing and a disgrace to football in general. Fair play to Eustace, he contained himself brilliantly last night and showed great discipline considering the amount of provocation. I would have floored that little wan*er, Barnes, but he showed great self-restraint and should NEVER have been booked. The only person who should have been booked was Barnes for play-acting. The queers over on the Brighton forum say that he raised his hands...did he f**k, he went in with his chest and he fell to the floor holding his face.
The best five players on the pitch were TK, Murray, Hogg, Eustace and Deeney. Iwelumo also played well and linked with Deeney nicely. The lack of pace going forward was evident and we lacked width, especially as we had four central midfielders on the pitch. I can't help but feel we've lost a cutting edge going forwards now Alex has gone back to Foolham, we've lost that natural balance in midfield. A left-winger has to be one of the first targets this summer.
Defensively we did ok. Nosworthy I thought was solid, as was Taylor. Dicko did well to keep 'Buckles' quiet most of the evening...I was willing him to slide through him and damage the delicate little pr*ck though.
TK was brilliant in goal, came for everything and swept up well when CMS was looking to get in behind a few times. He also made a stunning save in the first half to deny 'Buckles' when he cut in on his left-foot about 10 yards out.
All in all, a good solid performance, at times we got the ball down and passed it well, at other times we went direct and involved Iwelumo a bit more. A draw was probably a fair result, but I don't think many people would have been able to complain had we held out for a win.
That free-kick gets better and better every time I see it. The amount of stick the Brighton keeper is getting from their bum-bandit fans is outrageous! You only have to look to see where the ball appeared to be heading and then the way the ball curled to head in the complete OPPOSITE direction, not to mention the dip on it too and the pace he hit it with.
Yeah, couldnt agree more, the freekick really is amazing, i keep watching it over and over and it's almost like its cgi - the bend is that strong. great to watch.
if it aint broke - dont fix it!
Just got home after a beery night in Brighton. I was impressed with our level of commitment but I think we did well to get away with a draw in the end. Did their player that conceded the penalty even get booked for it? And how the hell did Bridcutt end up getting man of the match? The stadium is OK but stuck in the middle of nowhere and was £22 in a cab from the centre of Brighton! The train back wasn't quite as hateful as I thought it would be but sod doing that every other week. The steak pie was by far the best pie I've ever eaten at a football ground. So good in fact I had two...![]()
World class technique there with that free kick - its the sort of thing that you can't teach players.
He's a credit to our youth setup not just because of his talents, but also the way he handles himself in interviews. Much like the rest of the graduates, he always stresses that he's got so much work to do to improve his game, and that he's not achieved anything yet...
Man Utd are considered to have the best youth academy in the country - but you've only got to look at the amount of arrogant idiots they've produced over the past few years who seem to think the world owes them a living

I managed to make it there last night but sat in the main stand rather than behind the goal & when you see it from that angle it is world class.
Pretty much the same thought as the other comments on here, just that we do need natural width, also while Dickinson is a LB it is an area I think we need improvement in, I did hear a whisper that the club are looking at the possibility of Forsyth moving into that position as apparently he played there before !
The difference in style home & away is vast & hope that we take the away approach when we get a new pitch.
Brighton's approach really dissapointed me & there appeared to be an air of arrogance from them that made them act like Premiership Prima Dona's, mind you with Vicence they have a player that has over 30 caps for Spain so is clearly a class above what we have on the books, but we looked like a better team & a draw was a fair result
Murray free-kick from another angle plus the rest of the goals

THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT.THE FUTURE'S YELLOW.
The paper down there reckons the free kick flicked off someone's head in the wall. Hard to tell but it would explain the deviation and dip.

Afternoon all, Have i been missed on here ?
Anyway moving on to last night.............
Oh dear 2-0 up and you fooked it up
It had to be Buckles who got the all important goal for us. Not only that he ran you lot ragged last night. You simply couldn't handle him and that is why Gus paid a million for him.
I'm happy to get a draw last night after a poor first half by us. Thanks all.
