Totally agree. What made this decision worse was the total lack of consistency as in the first half Garner was down and they didn't put the ball out and Dowd didn't stop the game, Hull kept on attacking. You are only meant to stop play if it is a head injury which it wasn't. He missed an awful lot of fouls on us but blew the whistle the moment one of theirs went down.
Hysterically negative overreaction!

Dyche is trying to beat last season's total points and will use the evidence of our final 33 matches as a yardstick to attract better players to the club next season. He can show we are close to being a playoff team, and with two or three quality additions we could do it. With that in mind I can see why he is reluctant. Watford are playing some good sides in the run in and if he fielded more youngsters he is running the risk of getting a good hiding. Not so certain Mapps will leave to be honest. The door is shut as far as Newcastle is concerned so there is a possibility he will stay. I think this close season will be a lot of player trading and Dyche has a clear idea what now is required. He doesn't seem to trust Whichelow and there are things behind the scenes why he is being held back. The omissions of Yeates and Forsyth are probably more telling as to his thinking and I wouldn't be surprised to see these guys put on the transfer list, although I think Forsyth does have something to offer.
The ref can decide to stop the game for any injury if he deems it necessary. The difference between Garner and their guy was the play never went near Garner so there was no need to stop the game. Play went close to their player so it's then deemed dangerous and the game needs to be stopped.
Thought he was the best ref we have had for a long time.

Exactly. Doyley could play there in the centre, he was played there plenty enough times in the past and Hodson could come in. Of course, even better Thompson, could be recalled from Brentford or even young Hoban seeing he has been playing first team footie and being a 'dead' game, a good chance to give him a run-out against a couple of very good strikers that P'boro have.
