Studying in the USA

I know there was a thread about this fairly recently, but it didn't seem to have that much info if I remember correctly. If I'm remembering that wrong, sorry but hey ho.

I'm in my third and final year of Uni in the UK. Basically, I want to do a postgrad degree in the US (will start in Sept 2013 of course, as it's too late for this year), but I don't really know of many of the funding options for us Brits. I've found this: http://www.fulbright.co.uk/, but don't really know how likely it is that I'd get funding from them (not many places as far as I can tell), so if anyone knows anything about that it'd be great to know.

I just sort of would like to know as many differnt options as possible, and thought it might be a good place to put them all. I'm guessing that there's at least a couple of others that wish to study in the US, as I remember that thread not dying instantly, so hopefully this will help others too.

Also, it's worth noting that I'd be doing an Arts postgrad, something like Philosophy or English, so the chance of getting corporate sponsorship where they give you a job in a relevant field afterwards is pretty unlikely seeing as as far as I know that's pretty much medics and engineers only that get that kind of deal.

I'm sure there are a few USA-based users on here that are from the UK, so it's plausible they'll know or have experienced this type of thing first-hand. So, if you've got any info whatsoever, please let me know, I'd be extremely grateful.

I'm a permanent resident, so it's a bit different for me going to school out here, but I was considered an international student for my first semester so I may be able to help you out a bit.

I know my school (University of Houston) has a load of scholarships for foreign students.

Follow this link and explore the scholarship options they have at my school. I imagine that most schools are similar, so you'd be wise to think about the part of the country that would prefer to be in and then look for schools in that region. Have a little browse around the website and read the various bits about international students.

If you can make it happen, then I'd absolutely recommend study out here. The schools are just fantastic and the facilities are out of this world. It is a brilliant experience.
