Default 14/2/2012 championship WFC 3-2 Leicester

Watford play Leicester at home on Valentines Day after a draw with Nottingham Forest at the County Ground. Watford were lucky to escape with a point as they played poorly against Forest. Leicester come from the back of a 2 - 1 win over promotion chasing Cardiff with Paul Gallagher scoring both goals for the Foxes. Despite being big spenders at the beginning of the season, Leicester currently sit 12th in the table 5 points ahead of Watford playing the same amount of games. Leicester overcame a run of 5 home games without a win to beat Cardiff and now are looking for back to back wins. Leicester are without Sol Bamba who played in the Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday night, a game in which Ivory Coast lost to Zambia, and they are also without John Pansil. Danny Drinkwater is expected to start against Watford, where he spent part of last season on loan. Watford are without long term absentees Steven McGinn and Martin Taylor who are still recovering from their injuries.

    Expected squads are:

    Watford XI

    Loach
    Hodson
    Marriappa
    Nosworthy
    Doyley
    Murray
    Hogg
    Peter Eustace (Bloody Sun)
    Kacaniklic
    Garner
    Deeney

SUBS: Bond, Dickinson, Buaben, Iwelumo, Yeates.

    Leicester XI:

    Schmeichel
    Peltier
    Konchesky
    Mills
    St. Ledger
    Dyer
    Drinkwater
    Wellens
    Gallagher
    Beckford
    Nugent

    Substitutes
    Logan
    Morgan
    Howard
    Marshall
    Delfouneso

Score prediction: 2-1 to Leicester, I would happily take a point against them though.

Leicester are putting a good run together, and this looks a bit like the Birmingham match, whereas we are playing them at the wrong time. I fully expect Leicester to pick up the points in this one. 0-2.

On paper, Leicester should have this in the bag and I can't see us getting anything from the game. However, we have a different look side to when we played them last, so as long as we are solid defensively and keep the pressure on I do think we are good enough for a draw and I'd be very happy with the point

Can't see where we'll get a goal from in that team, quite worrying. The quality in that Leicester line up is scary, but COYH.

Wishfulthinking but I think its going to be a 3-1 win with Eustace, Deeney and Murray to score. By the way can we make like a prediction league for the Championship for a bit of fun, or is there 1 going on somewhere already?

Just done the predictor and league finished: -

    1. Southampton 93
    2. Birmingham 90
    3. Blackpool 89
    4. Cardiff 88
    5. West Ham 86
    6. Reading 84
    7. Hull 82
    8. Burnley 72
    9. Leeds 68
    10. Derby 68
    11. Barnsley 62
    12. Middlesbrough 61
    13. Leicester 59
    14. Brighton 58
    15. Palace 56
    16. Watford 51
    17. Ipswich 47
    18. Portsmouth 42 (if no deduction)
    19. Peterborough 41
    20. Bristol C 41
    21. Millwall 40
    22. Forest 40 (stay up if Pompey deducted 10 points)
    23. Coventry 31
    24. Doncaster 31

I was as objective as I could be, but of course I am probably wildly out!!! Having said that I really think we will end up with around the 51 points I've predicted and that should see us well safe IMO!!!

It's probably fair to assume you haven't got other plans tomorrow night isn't it?

Games against Leicester have normally been high scoring in recent history. That's the only reason for my prediction. It's just as likely to be 0-4!
