As a Premier League player he hasn't been particularly successful. As a Championship player he's been very good and, at the moment, we're still a Championship club which some people seem to be forgetting.

Look,Tommy Smith has always been a very good championship player but never really set the Prem alight mainly because he's always been there with struggling teams but also because he is not a top prem player.The guy can deffo do a job for us with Murray on one wing and Smithy on the other we'd be looking extremely dangerous out wide.
Looking at the signings made so far we are building a team to get us out of this division and I think that shows in that Almunia and Hall have only been given 1 year contracts(which I think I read somewhere last night).So I say get him in he'd be very valuable to us on the pitch.

Again no plausible reason why, other than nostalgia and you want to play him out of position to boot. He doesn't have the pace anymore or trickery to play wing.

A lot of the time I don't exactly enjoy reading what you have to say. But seriously, having such a petty argument on a public thread is obviously going to allow other people to get involved. Either PM each other, or just don't bother reacting... Or meet him for the pint.
