Default John Eustace's chance to shine?

As you all may be aware, Jonathan Hogg picked up his 5th yellow card of the season and therefore misses the trip to Donny. This is very disappointing as I feel he absolutely bossed the midfield on saturday, but will this be John Eustace's chance to cement his place back in the starting line up? I'm slightly worried about the outcome of this scenario as Mr Dyche could potentially fall back into old habits by selecting a side by name rather then by performances. Is anyone else worried about this?

i would expect eustace to absolutely give his all on saturday. if he plays well and we batter donny then perhaps he should keep his hogg out of the team.

ideally you wouldnt want to change a winning team, but suspensions have conspired against us.

He'll get a red card in his enthusiasm, problem will be solved.

Hogg has been awesome since Eustace was out of the team. However I have no problem with John coming back as long as Buaben or similar plays alongside ONE of them.

I'm not sure Dyche has ever picked a team on name, after all he dropped Loach, Sordell, yates and Big Chris, in search for the right combinations.

I would much rather have Hogg than Eustace, but what happens if Eustace sets up 2 and scores 1 ? Is he then more creative than Hogg ? At least we know that Eustace is committed enough not to let us down

Just one game for him, get Hogg back when available.

John Eustace has nothing to prove. He has been the backbone of the side for ages.
I'd much rather he got back to full fitness which is hard if you've been playing with a dodgy back (I know)

If John returns and "is on it", I'd be happier if he or, more preferably Hogg could play as the more forward midfielder.

I don't see Buaben as the answer as many on here do, I think he's been limited and both Hogg and Eustace are more complete, and certainly more passionate footballers.

Both Hogg and Eustace have better shooting technique than the Prince , who had been going for glory, high, wide and not so handsome at the expense of passing to teammates in better positions. Not that impressed with him at all, so far. Is quite good at being near the play but not part of it or dominant.

So, to be clear, Hogg AND Eustace , if either can adapt to the Buaben position. Both are better players, better goalscorers and less selfish.

Why? If Eustace plays a blinder he should stay in the team. Whilst Hogg has played well over the last few matches he misses this game because of his indisclipine in picking up all these bookings. If Eustace plays badly, then yes, Hogg comes back.

I wonder if Dyche will chuck Jenkins in instead?

Eustace needs to capitalise on Hogg's suspension.

Id rather it be Eustace and Prince in mid than Eustace and Hogg. Least we still have the one defensive and one attacking midfielder in the team. Hoping Hogg can get back in the side for Bristol City though.

I don't think it will be too bad..as Eustace can do the Hogg role well.

Be more of a worry if it was Buaben banned and we went back to playing 2 defensives midfielders.

Yeah, Eustace is far less selfish. He's so unselfish he wants to let the opposition have the ball instead of himself. I mean, he rarely gives the ball to his own team does he.

Think people are terribly unfair on Eustace. He turned down advances from Leeds and Derby, probably Cardiff too knowing malky, and gets slated. Not been his best season, but if he puts in a decent shift he will give Dyche a headache.

Hogg or Eustace is fine, but not both. Rather like Gerrard & Lamard for England, they're both good players but to similar.

Without an attacking & creative midfielder we look sterile & 1-dimensional. I'd like to think SD knows this. We'll see...

Say what you like about Dyche, he has now put together a squad with fierce competition for nearly all positions; hopefully McGinn will be back, in form, soon, and that central midfield will be a combo of Hogg/eustace and Prince/McGinn.
