Paper maybe but that doesn't always translate onto a football pitch. For a team looking to get into the PL they should have been dominant in the 2nd half, wanting to put on a show for their fans especially being 2-0 up and at home, yet for large parts of it they looked poor (or maybe it was just disinterested).Originally Posted by lutonh8a

Not sure to be fair, but my point was they have a better side on paper than us as they have had a shed load of cash to spend. And I for one did not expect us to be beating Leicester away.
GT made a telling point tonight on 5 Live. He was the pundit on the Arsenal match and said if you keep losing matches, you will lose your job. The comment was totally unrelated to Watford, but I wonder if he had Dyche in mind when he said that.
Neither did I, however with the cash they've spent Leicester have the better team on paper, whereas Southampton have a team with a good manager which reflects their league position. We have neither and this reflects our league position.
Tonight was actually better than I expected, but was always going to simply be an exercise in turning up the pressure on Dyche - a low scoreline may save him. Lets see what the morning brings, but if he does get sacked, my god will I be happy.

No goals in 3 games, talk of 'livening up' when a player is introduced overshadowing another dim performance - wow, what a low state we've reached when people STILL defend whats happening.
It's been 12 games and there is no change. To our performances, our tactics, our proficency. We've won 2 games. Out of 12. The squad we have is not that bad. Forest felt that, sacked their boss and immediately beat an unbeaten side.
But yeah, lets give him til Christmas eh? Things will have turned around. We might have won 3 games by the time Santa comes. But not with a new boss though, as Watford FC have been very naughty this year.
The trouble is time is already running out. To stay up, on average, you need around 52 points. That's 14 more wins from 34 remaining matches. Under Dyche this clearly is not going to happen.
I can't imagine Dyche getting sacked until we are adrift at the bottom of the league tbh; and that is the earliest i can see it happening. What would happen to Harefield if we do get relegated? I think that is a key question. It seems as though the real positives from the past couple of seasons are being undone this year! It would be very difficult for us to come back again from league 1.
That is the bigger picture for me.
I don't buy into all the "Dyche has got a weak squad" rubbish. In theory it should be a bigger, stronger squad than we have had since Aidy was in charge. He has got the players to do well. Should be looking at mid-table really. Either Dyche and his coaching team can't motivate them or they were more interested in the money, when they signed. Either way people need to be held accountable and changes need to be made sooner rather than later.
Very good points there. Few would have expected us to win (or even draw) at Leicester or Hull so I don't expect any reaction from the board yet.
Peterborough at home may be interesting. Our home form throughout 2011 has been so shocking we are shedding supporters at an alarming rate. This should focus their minds.
They're in the entertainment biz and are simply not very entertaining or even that likeable as a side.
Didn't post last night as was late getting home from the game, however in the cold light of day I would say we are virtually certain to go down. OK there were some neat touches at times last night but after their first goal went in there was an air of inevitability about the whole thing. Just never felt we were going to score and seen more penetration from a eunuch.
With the budgets available to some of the clubs in the Championship at present I really think that on a realistic basis our correct level is down a division, whatever one may think about teams like Ipshyte, and they have their own troubles, they are playing to 20,000 most weeks which makes a big difference to budgets.
We have a number of promising young players who may well come good, however it's not realistic to pin our survival hopes on them and then listen to the muppets howling for their blood when they fail to deliver.
Accept the fact we are going down and lets lay the foundations for a spell in Div 1 with budgets trimmed accordingly, it will be the perfect place for our youngsters to develop without the pressure of a relegation dogfight.

I think the nail has been hit on the head by several people.
We aren't likeable as a side. Whatsoever. In defeats there isn't any positives. There aren't any heroes out on the pitch. We aren't proud of our team anymore. Top to bottom.
We have owners who most supporters think are crooks or incapable of running a business. We have a manager that doesn't appear to have what it takes to manage at this level. This is evidenced on the pitch with our drab performances, poor signings and seemingly allowing the players to do as they wish off the pitch.
Most defeats last season, I felt watching them come off the pitch that they'd given their all. Now I don't feel that now. It's not our plight, it's the reaction to our plight that bothers me.
I couldn't care less if our youngsters can't do the job yet. One thing I know is that they'd give their all, which i think the likes of Murray and Whitchlow would. That's fine by me. Thats all i ask as a supporter. I wouldn't criticise them.
If we're going down, let's go fighting. Not in the way that we currently are.
It starts and stops with the boss. We need something that Dyche can't provide.
