    Default Weimann...

Article in the WO saying Malky would be keen to have him back as he was popular and fitted in well with the squad.

Weimann seems keen to come back if given the chance too.

Would you like to see the Austrian Villian come back?

As a last resort but he's not going to bang 15+ goals in.

Yes. Wasn't given much of a chance last season, with more games I think he'll be very good. Hopefully however, he is not the only striker we get in.

I'd love him back. He may well be leading the line next season if we don't buy a replacement for Graham. Good player though. He will only improve next season if we get him back.

Definitely. Top young player with a great attitude. Huge work rate. Get him in!

As mentioned above, high work rate. Goals didn't flow for him but that's not the only thing a player needs to bring to the table. Would like to see him back to play a more permanent role but yeah, hope we get someone else in to be at the forefront of our striking contingent.

Although he didn't score that many goals, I saw the potential of real goalscorer. I think given a run of starts he would do really well.

No doubt about his work rate, not unlike our own Troy Deeney, but both of them lack goals.

If they were to start scoring they would be a great partnership, but I wonder if they will?

Maybe I would prefer someone who can hit the back of the net on a more regular basis.

I'd have him back in the squad, but I do think he's a bit light-weight. Beef up Weimann!!!!!

What or who do you mean by top scorer?

Let's face it, we're in no position to buy a top Championship forward no matter how much we'd like to so it'll be another up and coming 21-24 year old from the lower leagues or Scotland if we buy for a fee.

If we're lucky we might get an experienced player like Kevin Phillips on a free to supplement the youngsters already in the squad.
The problem there will be high wages (groan for the cliche) and more likelihood of injuries down to age so less time on the pitch for an already small squad.
An experienced player like this has little to no sell on prospect so doesn't really fit the transfer model briefly described by Bassini the other day.

With what I presume is a pretty limited transfer and wage budget could we afford both? Not if we're looking to get a left-back in, in my opinion.

Just to divert from the above slightly, one player who might be worth keeping half an eye on next year when the reserves play their friendly games is Dereece Gardner who looks a solid figure from his pen pic (I know that's not much to go on but have a look below!) and he knocked several goals in when he played towards the back end of the season. Not bad for who I think was only a first year scholar last season.
I'm not saying he'll be in the 1st XI anytime soon but maybe a League Cup sub appearance is in the offing?

Dereece Gardner - a solid looking bugger!

I'm thinking of experienced players, like Kevin Phillips or Shefki Kuqi, who both are free on the market. But offcause there is a possibility for alot of injuries in that age.

Otherwise there is the 25-year Garra Dembele. He has scored a lot of goals for Levski this season, and i don't think he will be so expensive.
