How's this different from any other game?
It's Boxing Day. People who might always otherwise stay at home and trek to a match at 3pm will want rid of the family and unlikely to have work the next day could well hit the pub(s) pre-match. Herts have been nervy about drinking & football for years. Lord knows why.

I remember Boxing Day fixture always being at midday.
It's ridiculous.
There have been incidents when we've played Bristol City, most notably away in 98
correct, but its been quite for a few years now. no bad feelings from our side, that i know off anyway.
in the GOD days this fixture was nearly always full house. then the beer googles took over and nearly every year there was trouble in the score board end. this became running battles on a couple of occasions and the fixture was moved to a mid day kick off. thats what i remember at a spotty teenager in any case

yer i think it was 12 o clock not sure though. Looks likes i will be drinking very early then for the 12.00 kick off

Believe me I know!!! As I always go and living in Cornwall I usually have to get up at the crack of dawn to make the 300 mile journey just to get to the VIc!!!
A few seasons back we were away at Reading, which is slightly nearer for me, but they still got me as it was an 11am KO
