American Tourist on vacation to the UK.
"Excuse me Mam, why did they build Windsor Castle so close to Heathrow"

It looks like people are taking it seriously.
Hopefully it's simply justifiable alarmism and it is merely a good rain.
Any kind of storm is dangerous there though.
I wish them the best, but fear the worst.
I blame the Bush Administration.
Believe it or not, I really WAS there when Doyley scored.
Coincidence that just as Russia ramps up the anti-Western feeling, the World Meterological Organisation comes up with 'Gustav' as the name for potentially the most ferocious storm to strike the States?
Come on you 'Orns!

Doubt it will be half as bad as theyre making it sound, however if this ever happened in England i'd probably ***** myself.

Nagin's had a bit of a ******* of a reign hasn't he?

Makes you feel lucky to live here in the UK.

just watched the video on that link. The mayor isnt playing it down, it must be a different feeling out there, its all well us saying "oh it will only be half as bad" but half as bad is bad enough, im sure these people dont want another wipeout of thier state and face probable death.
Im sure, if i lived in New Orleans, i would be out of there quick as a flash!

The state of Louisiana and particularly it crown jewel New Orleans are the most corrupt incompetent governing body in US history.
Great people live there though! They don't deserve this piling on.
Still the Feds set aside nearly $200 million to rebuild the levees that hold the Gulf of Mexico back and keep the people safe.
3 years later, the state and city still haven't gotten the right permits to proceed with construction.
INCOMPETENT!
I'd never go back unless the entire city was re-engineered. I'm not suicidal!
Believe it or not, I really WAS there when Doyley scored.
