Aren't Mr Simpson and Ashton in it to make money as well?

Ashton is the Chief Executive and was until last week simply an employee of the club. He's now on the board as well but only in an executive capacity and I don't believe he has a (significant) shareholding. So any money he makes from the club is in the way of wages.

GS originally put his dosh in and a lot of dosh into a sinking ship at huge risk, huge risk deserves huge profit - he could quite easily have lost a big part of his self made fortune.

MA has only been appointed a director, has not put dosh into the club and is being rewarded for his boundless effort in securing a healthy future for WFC by doing his job ( any employee would like to be rewarded for his/her effort if results are being acheived in the view of their bosses, would you not want a pay rise or incentive for working well?). For MA it is a job, which if he does well will reap financial rewards here and allow him to ask for a better salary at his next job based on any success here and what he did for WBA.

KingJames... Please can you explain to me the elation you are feeling as I have to admit I am a little confused...

I really do want to share your obvious joy at this turn of developments, where as from my perspective I am totally shocked by the news!

I was under the impression that if it were not for the input of large chunks of monies (millions) from the russo's ,when we desperately needed it, we would have gone into administration!

I appreciate that they did it for long term financial gain, but at the time when we were worth absolutely 'nothing' and indeed carrying a lot of debt, I truly believed that they supported Watford and were our saviours and all round good guys!

I am a bit confused as to how we are in a better position without them, assuming that we have paid them back their director loans...

Help me... I want to see this great big beacon of light too!!

Unfortunately it seems most fans expect someone to come in, throw millions at the club with no interest or expectation of a return and then to go on their merry way without any recriminations when they're done. As nice as it would be it's entirely unrealistic to expect any investor to do that. Abrimovich is the exception to the rule but most people seem to have forgotten that.

As one of the first on the old boards to voice my concern at the salad boys role i feel some what vindicated today.

They did loan the club money and in the last full accounts this was yet to be repaid.

No mention was made of the larger cash sum being converted from an out and out loan to anything else, that is not to say this hasn't happened without our knowledge.
