I visit Graham Taylor's Office virtually every day - but rarely contribute as I'm too ITK and restricted by confidentiallity.

Don't want to appear mysterious - but can't say more.

Pretty similar to the others, I've been lurking for a while after being introduced to the forum by LBH after he did an interview for me for my dissertation. Since moving back home, Watford has begun to slowly take over my life again hence the reasons for signing up properly!

Totally understand and respect your position. In your situation you clearly need to be discreet.

Could you just clarify the following:

Has Sean Dyche been totally relieved of his duties or is he somehow involved?
How will our own scouting and procurement function relate to the Pozzo's strategy, does Ross Wilson have a job?
Who are Zola's back room team?

We love new posters so a big welcome to you all. Maybe every few months when we get 50 or so new people on here we can do a poll and kick out some of the old timers?

    I can help with this

Sean is still in the frame at this stage
The scouting and procurement is key to Pozzo's strategy. Wilson has a position at the moment, but it's still to be confirmed.
Zola will be appointing a back room staff, but it's too early to discuss publicly as things are still in discussion and contracts yet to be signed.

Massive lurker, rare poster! Nearly 2 years on the forum and visit every day but like many things I like to sit back and quietly watch...... No really I'm outside your window now...... Is that your wife or daughter? Plus I wish I has picked a shorter user name as its a pain to type to log in from my phone!

Hi chaps, I've been going to games since we were last relegated to the then 2nd division, but finally had enough free time to get a season ticket again a few years back. I have a soft spot for fundamentally disappointing players who fail to live up to their potential (currently Forsyth, historically Nordin Wooter, Clint Easton and Anthony McNamee among many) and like the fact that a Watford game tends to be as likely to end 3-2 as 0-0. My all time favourite chant was the unbelievably **** and at the same time hilarious 'I'm hornet, hornet, hornet, hornet' to the tune of Mousse T's 'Horny' which disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared. Favourite player has to be Tommy Mooney as much as for how he found his place in the team as for what he did when he got there. Been visiting the forum for a while but there seems to be so much going on at the moment that it's hard not to want to comment.

Long time lurker, long time supporter (since 1976) and a long way from home.

I use the forum for info as there is not much WFC talk out here in the colonies.

I'm very positive about the takeover. Other than the Italian connection, this is nothing like the Vialli disaster. We are now part of a footballing family with a huge scouting network who have a record of finding and developing talent to the benefit of their teams, both financially and in on field success. Vialli just played his part in p1ssing the GT legacy up the wall.

Hoping to finally come home later this year after 13 years downunder and I will be a regular at the Vic again - along with my 8 year old son who has only had one trip to the Vic before.....to see Palma in a friendly a couple of years back. Looks like we'll be back for some interesting times......but when have we ever had anything else!

Can I just say I really do not appreciate the insinuation of this thread title. I understand it to be that you are assuming that we've 'come out of the woodwork', that we werent real fans and havent been supporting the club just because we havent been posting, and are only posting now due to the takeover and the supposed glory that will follow.

    This is NOT the case.

Its a shame that I have to write my first post in such a negative way but I feel it needed addressing.
I started off on GH under the username Aymondo, my first post was Thu Aug 28, 2008, why is that important? Because thats when I started lurking here, so i've been active on here since 2008, and set up the account in 2011, in which I have during match days, been on the chat box and talked to you guys. Why did it take me so long to post? Because pretty much all the views expressed on here had already covered my thoughts, so I didnt feel the need to regurgitate or recycle the same things, until now and I felt the need to speak on my mind.

A lot of us who have come out of the 'woodwork' as you so put it, have supported this site, every click counts, be it in the way of an advert, or a clicked on a thread, or post in a thread for that matter, we've read everyones views and continued to come back here and do the same over and over. Just because some have created and account now does not devalue there support or mean they are any less of a fan - why not create an account and post on this forum after a takeover?, there has never been such a positive time in the last couple of years!

Anyway I just took issue with that, we shouldnt have to explain our history to qualify why we are a fan, we should just be accepted in open arms, and not need to explain ourselves.
And lastly I just want to say I dont mean this in anyway as a derogatory towards Ctulhu, I've read your posts for ages and value your opinions as i do with most of the mainstays of the WFCforums (paddy, simms, moog, hornetboy and whoever else i missed), I just wanted to make my point (sorry if i've got the wrong end of the stick, but i dont think I have) and I look forward to posting more.

I tend to read most things I can on the horns from various sites not GHs though to Low brow even for me, mostly all speculation but rarely dull, I make a few comments here and there when the mood takes me, I recently enjoyed the lurking baz thread and have supported and attended for 20 yrs. jez didn't realise it was that long.

Im a newby, couldnt hack half the crap that was going on on the wobby website and only really stumbled on this great forum looking for an alternative source of wfc news. Im from bushey and am a goalkeeper. Kevin Miller was the first truely great goallie i remember at watford. I dont remember Coton and i dont regard DJ as that great tbh.

Been lurking here from day one basically and visit here most days just to see what's going on.
Went to my first game in around 1975, when the old man got bored visiting my nan in hospital and decided going to a game was in order to kill the boredom.

With him and all his family being Arsenal and the old lady her her family being Tottenham becoming a Watford fan made my life easier than following either of them!
We had season tickets from 77 to 85 and the old man would take me to around ten away games every season, including some of the most memorable games in the clubs history like the league cup win at Old Trafford. Then in 86 I started going to games with mates, standing in the Rookery with the likes of Fridge, Lil, The beach ect.

I think I have visited 63 grounds following the horns over the years but the last 10 or so years it has been just the odd home game and a couple of away games due to other commitments and falling out of love with Sky's corporate version of the game I used to love so much.

Lurk often, post rarely. Wouldn't mind if someone started a thread about what the players opinions of the takeover are (if anyone has that knowledge), and if the process is being change managed.

Its fantastic to see so many new members and privious lurkers posting more reguarly. New opinion and discussion is what the place is all about and as Admin says, some of us gits are a bit stayed at times.

Don't be put off by the "i know best because i've been here longer than you" brigade, its a bit like driving, we were all learners once, just in Birdys case before they had tests. New opinion, new debate and new voices are good.

    Hello again from Finland,
was lucky to be a young ST holder stood under the scoreboard/police box during the glory (and not so glory) years...now a follower from further away

I follow this site (and newsnow for breaking stories) quite alot and it really seems we are at the start of a whole new WFC era....looking forward to finally hear some concrete plans for the East Stand and the long ball reputation is finally put to the history books.

Am dreaming now for the day we return to the prem...just so i can watch all the games over here on hdtv...or maybe soon 3dhdtv :) I don't expect instant success though but see the benefit of a longer more stable 'project'. I guess we'll hear some more of these plans soon.

Am sometimes tempted to post when the Dyche out/anti-Baz brigade start screaming for blood at the slightest hiccup. Perhaps the Dyche outers learnt a lesson to reserve judgement just a little longer in future but I doubt it. You just can't please all of the fans all the time especially juvenile ones behind a keyboard.

Onwards and upwards! come on youooorns! Looking forward to coming for the Spurs game during my summer hols back in the UK.

I read the forums most days as I like to keep up with what's going on in and around the club, I don't get as much time as I'd like to get to games anymore since living in Kent, working and having a family, I only managed two games last year and if I can go to that amount again this year would be great, anymore is a bonus.

Still as we seem to be naming and shaming ourselves for not posting I thought I'd put my name in the hat as one of those! :doom:

I went from 606 to Not606 but found it was just the same people having pointless conversations on there. For my sins, I have tried to post on the wobby site but some on there just can't accept other opinions.

I read these pages a lot more than I post. Good times to be a hornet.

The term lurking sounds a little negative, but it seems that's the term being used for those not contributing regularly.

I moved to Ireland as a youngster from Watford in 1977. I continued to support the club, but it was very diffucult to follow what was happening in those days. With the success in the 80s the profile of the club increased and it was a little easier to keep up to date. There are some fans in Ireland but it is a very small number. My kids are fans and I get to at least one game a season with the kids and perhaps another one or two with my brother (depending on work and family commitments). On occasions I have arranged to bring friends over to the Vic, but the attraction of premiership football for neutrals works against me on that one.

Nowadays, with satelite TV and the internet it is much easier to keep up to date. To be fair, the forum is an excellent source of information to those not living in the area. It is difficult to be constructive on a forum such as this when you cannot attend the matches regularly. I feel that there should be a welcome for those who, for whatever reason, are not in a position to post.

In relation to the future, I am very hopeful. My first post on the forum related to Sean Dyche and my appreciation for his efforts. He will be fine. He is probably a little sore, but he is in a good position to move on. The new onwer's attitude to building clubs in a responsible and considered manner, coupled with our academy structures, fills me with a sense of great optimism and security. For the time being, I believe that we can put the worries of administration behind us and focus on the football.

I enjoy the forum and particularly the regular contributors. I will leave the entertainment to the experts, but I will not rule out making the odd (in both senses of the word) comment in the future.

Keep up the good work (and be a little more patient with the lurkers!)

I don't think Cthulhu meant to be negative with the use of "lurkers" or "woodwork."

I understood that he just wanted to hear from those of you who are "out there" but who, for whatever reason, rarely post. I don't speak for the Cthulhu, but I don't think he meant to offend. You are all much loved in your silent ways, as much as I am loathed in my spamming, post on every thread and annoy people way.
