Since the Brum game where we were undoubtedly shaky, but got the all-important 3 points, we've played well in 5 games against promotion challengers and have perhaps been unlucky only to get 4 points, we now face a slightly different challenge against 3 teams broadly our level. Think 4 points would be a good haul and would seal the deal for him next season

Andrew French’s latest article (which holds comments from Cleverley) tells me that perhaps the club may not pluck for him longer term.

Maybe I’m reading to much into it but his comments don’t carry the weight of someone who expects to carry on - and I genuinely believe the club are likely to know what they want to do by now.

I’m also a bit worried that he’s saying we don’t need a more prolific striker and he’s happy with the one’s we have.

Hopefully it’s just public support and not his true feelings.

 

He's also said he is happy with our forwards and isn't bothered about a prolific goalscorer.....

In the same article he says that "when we play three at the back and are solid we look a little bit toothless in attack", which is already about as much of a criticism as you're typically likely to get.

It reads as if he'd ideally like more potent attacking options, while at the same time thinking we can still perform a bit better with what we currently have.
