Some of you may have seen this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42442290 Absolute disgrace. An organisation that has said they promote grassroots football, are now potentially forcing a ninth-tier club into bankruptcy, all because of a trademark dispute with the Football Association over the club's logo. They think that people will get confused between Wembley FC and Wembley stadium. What the actual ****? Anyway, not really sure how much petitions actually do but here's a link https://www.change.org/p/football-a...ootball-club-dropping-wembley-from-their-name
Signed the petition, you would of thought the people at the FA might of had more than one brain cell betweeen them, obviously not. I seriously doubt anyone would get Wembley FC and Wembley the stadium confused with one another.
The logo was changed in 2012, with help from Budweiser, and it appears they have tried to take advantage of the big boys next door. Just go back to their old pre-2012 logo/crest and common sense prevails all round. Or is that too bl**dy simple?
I think we need to sue the state of New England for trademark infringement. As usual the only people winning in this are the lawyers and bodies involved in making the decision.
I don't think the "F" in "F.A." stands for football and I'm certain the "A" doesn't stand for Association.
