It would be nice to beat man utd and actually go top. It would also be fun to sing "and now youre going to believe us, we're going to win the league".

I'll cash my $5 bet in now on your advice, come on let's ride this happy wave and believe. Until Fulham away and we get brought back down to the real world

FWIW I chucked on a free five pound bet that I got from the WC on Watford to win the prem at 1000/1. Bookies are offering me a cash out of £18.66 so clearly we're gonna win the prem

    I've 2 bets $5 win outright
$10 top ten, I've put that top ten bet on the last 2 seasons this season was very sceptical about it. I've never put anything on us winning it. Maybe just maybe there could be something in this

He certainly has the home form nailed. Since the arrival of Gracia we've picked up 23 points, more than any other Premier League side in that time, including Liverpool and City.

We've played 10 home matches, won 7 (including wins over Chelsea and Spurs), drew 2 and lost only 1. When you consider one of those draws was that last minute goal conceded against Bournemouth and the loss was the give away victory against Burnley, it's easy to see it could have been even better.

Now the away form is a different story of course. Only 4 points picked up in 8 matches. However, 4 of those 8 were against Spurs, United, Arsenal and Liverpool. Anything from those fixtures, in any season, has to be considered a bonus, so we're only really judging the other 4 (imo). From those 4 we won 1, drew 1 and lost 2. However, the defeat at Huddersfield was last minute to the only shot they had on target. The other defeat was a poor one at West Ham.

All in all, he's done remarkably well. I would say only at Liverpool and West Ham have I been disappointed with the team's performance since he's arrived.

I don’t think the manner of the defeat at Huddersfield matters but the performance was poor. They may have scored at the death from their one shot on target but it was more down to how poor they were, not how good we were. I felt it was a very very poor performance on the day.

But - its a new season and so far, so good on our travels. I’m hopeful the page has been turned but I’ll be happier making that observation after a few more away games, rather than just the one so far.

Putting my Sky Sports pundit's hat on for a second, I would say that if we can finish above Everton, Spurs and Arsenal, that will be a good season for us. Anything else will be a bonus.

Let's just get to the magical 55 points and see what if we can keep the foot on the gas and maybe have a late run at the top 6.

I think it's more of the result colouring the view of performance. We played in a similar way at Stoke, but got the point we wanted. I'm not saying it was a good performance, but it was one designed to not get beaten. It was almost perfectly executed. Of course, when you concede a goal in the final few seconds, then you run the risk of being heavily criticised.

Now, I personally believe we've evolved since then. I wouldn't expect us to go to Huddersfield with a "park the bus" attitude this season. We may see a more subdued performance when we play a top 6 side away, or go to Wolves, Fulham, Everton or Leicester, but I think in the majority of away games we'll probably give it a go.

It’s a good comparison, albeit a little early in the season. If you’re still up there at Christmas then why not start to dream of a Champions league place? Ok Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea have the top 3 places sewn up imo but the other challengers aren’t particularly convincing

There was a few moments that season when I thought we could do it. The first was Spurs away with Huth’s header securing a 1-0 win. The second was Man City away when we completely outplayed them. The third was a weird one as we played West Brom at home on a Tuesday night and only drew 1-1 which felt like points dropped as Arsenal and Spurs had seemingly easy fixtures the following night. Can’t remember who they played exactly but I think Arsenal drew at home to Swansea aNd Burnley beat spurs or something like that

Anyway just enjoy it while you can and don’t get too hung up on the league table. For as much as I loved that season it was hard to enjoy at the time with all the anxiety lol

Oooft! High praise indeed! I personally think Kante is the best in the world at what he does

I'd guess the post you were replying to is a minority view amongst Watford fans. Kante is clearly a level above Doucouré albeit they're different types of player.

We should do our forum version of Autumn Watch called "Snood Watch "

Bill Oddie crouching in the bushes at London Colney excitedly, whispering the first sighting of the Lesser Spotted Italian Snood.
