just need a home draw with wham to finish 10th on 51 points, more than happy with that. beat them and the middle 6 will end up as a middle 4 with us in it which would b very impressive!!

They are such bad winners. I've never know a club like it. Even Jimenez is getting on in the act, saying he wanted to put the mask on again after scoring.

His interview is dripping with an rubbing it in attitude. Yes, they won on Saturday, but it's still down to us whether they get into Europe or not.

They just cannot be allowed to have the final laugh on us, it just wouldn't be right.

The part about “It would be a great achievement as at that beginning of the season all the people thought we would be fighting to stay in the Premier League" is just wrong. The Wolves love-in started pre-season. Absolutely no one tipped Wolves for relegation. All predictions I saw had Wolves as a top half finish. Everyone said how well they'd do, so Nuno is lying when he says that.

We all know what a sore loser Nuno is. He can kick a water bottle and swing his arms around to prove it.

Wolves fans are smug, and love rubbing it in. I'd love to shove that mask up Jimenez's @rse sometimes too. If we beat City in the final we should all wear Deeney masks pre season so we can rub it in.

I think some of the responses to Dragos "coming in peace" have been a bit harsh. He did have a couple of moans about Deeney (is he so wrong about some of the things he says) and time wasting - but unless done excessively that is normal so not worth moaning about. Refs - a law unto themselves.
Wolves have had a tremendous season. Over the last 10 to 15 years I think only West Ham have been promoted and got staight into the top half - and that only just. If Wolves finish 7th it will be a great achievement.
Compared to some of the Wolves fans Dragos appears very reasonable and I like other teams' fans interacting with us.
If I were him I would be more concerned that they might get into Europe. The history of clubs new to Europe - and that includes Spurs and Everton - is often that they then struggle to hold their place in the league the next year.

I think they have the financial backing and superagent to bring in enough quality to cope. It would be more of an issue for the likes of us and Burnley who have to live within our means.

Before this season, I would have been delighted for Wolves. I liked them as a club, but I knew very little about their fans. But their gloating, goading, with this "we're something a bit special" attitude has tarnished them.

Even on a talk show I heard recently. There was this Wolves fan, who came on to moan about Brighton and how pathetic they are. The guy in the studio, I can't remember who it was, but he usually allows them to say their piece and will make a supportive comment or show the caller some respect, but he just really had a go at his attitude. Saying you've just been promoted, what right do you have to look down your nose at other clubs.

That sums up the majority of Wolves fans I've come across. They are getting carried away with themselves and are lauding over other clubs, but they've won nothing yet. They are showing a massive lack of respect. Yes, of course there's banter, and that's normal, but they've gone well beyond that.

In 40 years of going to VR I don't think I've ever known fans to get so excited about beating Watford. They were singing European tour all down the Watford high street. Going into the faces of Watford fans and goading them. It was just pathetic behaviour. I'm amazed there wasn't any trouble.

I saw one Watford fan being cornered and ridiculed, but it looked like he could handle himself, and there was an unusually high police presence at the coaches.

They may calm down in a couple of years, but they are by far the worst fans in the Premier League right now. They are behaving like trailer trash with a lottery win.

You could be right but I think it is more than a money thing. It is the experience of coping with a difficult to organise extra competition and what it does to players' places across multiple competitions. That is why I mentioned that both Spurs and Everton struggled when they got into European competition for hte fist time in years.
Funnily I think the fact we have been in the Prem 5 years makes it easier for us than Wolves - as they will also have to contend with the "second season syndrome". Still I hope we do not find out how they would perform.

True to an extent but I expect there will be a few more "How the hell can Wolves bring in a player like that" signings by them this summer and a Europe will help keep the squad busy. I think the only issue comes if they progress and need to play their best 11 consistently in Europe.

Disappointing result Saturday quite obviously but the fact it looks like we will finish top 10 and made it to a cup final (maybe win it!) means it has been an outstanding season and something very few predicted back in August. Well done to Wolves as it is a fantastic achievement to finish as the best of the rest in their first season and they have some excellent players that if they keep will certainly have them up there again next season.
In regard to the mask, I couldn't really care less, it's done as part of a celebration in front of his own fans so I really don't see the problem. It's a lot better than players who score in front of the opposition fans and then goad them.
As for the Wolves fans, they probably have more than their fair share of idiots, especially those that tried to blame Nick Cruwys for what happened up there but we all have these kind of people. I don't get the issue with them singing about empty seats either, it's banter. It's just the same as singing the "our garden shed is bigger than this" song at a ground who has a smaller then capacity than us.
Time wasting is an odd thing to complain about because absolutely everybody does it. I seem to remember us doing it at the scum, probably a lot worse than I've seen recently. I think the ref should do something about it though or maybe have a time limit for throw ins and goal kicks. Easiest thing is to book players for it but early enough for it to make a difference and not in the 93rd minute when it makes no difference.
It makes us look like bad losers.
In a way I hope Wolves beat Fulham as it will give us certainly the opportunity to rest players for West Ham as I thought we looked a little tired on Saturday and we are going to need to be bang up for it against City if we are going to stand a chance

As far as I'm concerned it's even worse, because the mask was a premeditated action. It's designed to belittle the opposition. Saying now we're 2-0 up we can start taking the p1ss out of you. It's not a nice feeling if you're a player and you see that. It's like if a team are winning 2-0 (aka West Ham) and start show boating, with rainbow flicks and Rabona's . It's a complete lack of respect for your opponent. If you're going to accept that, then you are a bit soft.

It's interesting to note, that on both occasions, Wolves and West Ham, we bit and came back to win the games. So maybe it does inspire us, to put them in their place, but it is still out of order. The fact they can't recognise that, even in the cold light of day, shows what an up themselves club they have turned into.

I think if you are going to get upset over a mask then I'm not sure I'm the one who is soft. It made him look a bit stupid because they lost but apart from that it's a nothing event. It's no different from some of the pre planned goal celebrations that are seen every weekend

    Hi

Another Wolves fan in peace, hope you don't mind me making a few comments about things here.

Wemblety was a painful experience for us, but you were just about the better team on the day, though it was very frustrating how we threw it away, and with Jota, Neves and Moutinho off the pitch for exta time, few felt we would win at that stage. may I also say just how superb your support was that day, and how disappointed I was in ours overall. Not sure why, perhaps if we get there again, we ought to have standing/siinging section, otherwise the atmopshere floats away and becomes very disjointed. I didn;t notice any obvious time-wasting, but I do think Feeney has made more of the mask thing than he should have done, it was not done in front of Watford players or fans and not meant to entice - unlike the Watford players when they scored the winner. Anyway, that is done and dusted, and best of luck in the final. I think you can win it, if anyone can. Please remember, that at Wembley - 99% of both sets of fans got on well and there were no issues.

I thought you murdered us at Molineux BTW, but Saturday we just about deserved 3 points.

Part of the issues have been Ben Foster's Facebook remarks winding Wolves fans up, and pehaps Feeney's? But you have to have broad shoulders, just as Watford played Que-sera after the game on Saturday, which many Wolves fans knew was to rub it in. But 7th place would be a magnificent achievement, but its certainly not guaranteed.

I agree we have some noberts amongst our support, probably more than most clubs, and Wolves fans have always upped the anti when it comes to banter, and hence we get it back in deserved barrel-loads when it backfires. Its just the way we are, a bit like Geordies I always think in terms of banter and piss-taking.

We certainly have no divine right and we know where we came from - we are certainy lucky to have FOSUN and their money, with Mendes links, but at the same time Neves was festering in Porto's rserves, Moutinho aged 32 cost £5m due to age, Jota was in Atletico's reserves, so these were calculated gambles. It might all go wrong, but I've watched years of rubbish, so am going to enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Again, shame things have got bitter.

I never knew this so fair play because you have 3 very good players.
I think the bitterness comes from losing a game of football, you lot were bitter after the semi final despite your manager handing us the initiative and a lot of Watford fans are bitter because we lost Saturday, bizarrely also after our manager made changes.
    Who is Feeney?

I think thats a fair and astute view from the other side. We have a section of @rses in our fanbase I am sure, all clubs do.

I think Deeney does have a big mouth and ego, and many of us on here have said he needs to tone it down or at least think before he speaks.
He got sent off recently, be that harsh or not, and its badly effected us on the pitch with no leadership from him. Results of course include the whole team but be he is a major part of it.

You deserved it Saturday, our goal came from a mistake and Gracia's amazing team management lost us the game, despite storm Hannah giving Foster a hard time for your winner.

Thanks for the Wembley confidence boost too.

My apologies why I said Feeney (twice) I really don't know :)-.

I don't have a particular issue with Deeney saying what he said, I just think he made more of it than was ever intended by Jiminez. Absolutely no evidence that it was done to disrespect Watford in any way, I'm really not sure why he would ever think that, even if it seems like a strange sort of gimic. He still wants to do it every game when he scores. Not sure why though?

Doucoure is the player who always catches my eye, perhaps not the most gifted of Watford's players but certainly very influential. But you have built a fine team over several years.

Have you seen his full comments though or just the clip with the 'loser' comment in it? Journos asking provocative questions isn't new. The way Troy phrased his answer he didn't even know about the mask thing until he was shown a replay of it.

foster has saved us more points than he cost us, had a really good season so im not that annoyed as it will happen

we played okay was not a stella performance and not overly fussed for 7th unless it is via the fa cup win as really want to win the cup

WE DO NOT HAVE THE DEPTH OF SQUAD FOR EUROPEAN FOOTBALL

wolves fans at the game were obnoxious, shame really as talked to a decent wolves fan on the way to the game but he was a londoner supporting wolves

  27. Did you enjoy your physios synchronised display of running on and off the pitch? Walking off and then on again whilsrlt a game of football was supposed to be taking place, with your players deciding that they couldn't contain us with their football. Or your man walking along the pitch like he's on a sunday stroll after being rolling around with no injury whatsoever. Soon as he eventually got off the pitch, he ran like the clappers to get to the halfway line to get back on.

The game is turning to 5hit because of this pathetic gamesmanship. One thing that Watford can be proud of is that we at least do not make it a central part of our strategy.

Deeney's penalty was a penalty. I don't think there is a single person other than the more bitter Wolves fans who dares say it wasn't. You may look for it, by having the ball at your feet in dangerous areas, but it was your player who clattered into Deeney because he was in a threatening position in your penalty area. Deeney did not dive, nor would he have dived. It is pathetic that it is still being talked about. You may also note that your defender said it was a stupid foul after the game, no matter how grudgingly.

We have both had a great season. I wanted to beat you guys on Tuesday, no doubt about it. Does it hurt? No. You win some and you lose some. I think that as much as we are talking up seventh, and describing each game as a final, on the whole we are a club currently a little overwhelmed by being in the cup final. I can forgive them anything at the moment.

Was I disappointed by your time wasting? Yes. It was pathetic. I honestly would have been embarrased if Watford players had been doing that. You have a good reputation, but when you act like little 5hits, expect to be criticised for it.

They were better than the couple of loud idiots behind me in the Vic who were either lagered up or decided that they had been elected to address the players on behalf of the 50 people nearest them. It wasn't so much the language used, it was the fact it was utter tosh about the need to "just get it ****ing in there" presumably expecting AG & GD to outjump their CDs and ping a header into the top corner.

Yes mate, seen his full programme notes.

I don't know why he would still want to call someone a 'loser'? You can perhaps see that would have antagonised Watford fans had the situation been reversed, but yes it was asked of him on spec and it seemed quite an unneccessarily aggessive response I thought.

His programme notes were more measured and personally I quite like him as a person and as a player. But when you are forthright with your views, you are bound to antagonise some people into belittling responses. Its just human nature I'm afraid.

I meant his full comments in that same interview:

"After watching a replay of the celebration on beIN Sports, Deeney said: “I’m glad he put that mask on – he could wear it out now as well, now he’s a loser. So, enjoy the mask – we got the victory.

Deeney stressed he is a big fan of Jimenez, who signed a permanent deal with Wolves earlier this week, but argued the Portuguese star’s celebrations were premature.

“He’s a top, top player,” added Deeney. “It was a great finish, but I didn’t see the mask thing. I’m quite happy I only saw it now because I probably would have lost my head if I saw that.

“I think you’ve got to wear the mask and do all that stuff when you know you’re going to win the game."

We've seen this sort of thing for years now. Clickbait bit gets jumped on by the press, while the rest of what is said gets ignored. On balance I'd rather take his straight talking over the bland non-event interview most y'know footballers take part in, y'know?

Yeah saw them, still don't get quite why he takes such offence to it? He didn't run into the Watford players, get in their faces, or jump in front of Watford fans. Calling anyone a loser is unneccessary after you have beaten them, in my eyes.

His love of Mexican WWE is well known at Wolves. In recent weeks he has formed a close friendship with this WWE star Sin Cara who is massive in Mexico. Wolves have invited him over for a game.

To me and you I agree, it seems a somewhat childish prank, but I still feel that it was totally non-inflammatory and never designed to eb disrespectful.
I would have expected Deeney to say something like, "It means nothing to me or to the rest of the lads, it was his own celebration nothing more".

Again, I don't dislike Deeney though, just don't think he is subtle.

It was always going to happen, it was their cup final, which they almost didn't win - similar to Huddersfield, that was us at 30/40 % and Wolves at 100%.

Look forward to playing them again next season, always end up being decent games.
