Pretty simple. Most of them support a team in the top 6. Watford are the second team or 'local team'.

When I sat in the Family End years ago, a bloke and his two young kids were Man City fans. Used to come kitted up in City shirts and cheer when they got a goal alert through about City. The kids couldn't care less about watching and spent the games kicking a bottle around their row and most of the time they left 20 minutes early.

At least the Premier League tourists look genuinely ******* happy to be their.

Plus Newcastle away. Conversely we have only picked up 3 points from the top six having beaten Spurs at home and losing all the others. If we fail to beat Arsenal at home it will be our lowest points tally against the top six since we returned to the Prem.
But.. the 3 points we picked up against Fulham has already taken us past our previous highest points total against teams outside the top six (since returning to the Prem) As people say it's those games that make or break your season and that's certainly the case this season.

But many of the losses by a single goal.

Plainly, we need to be more clinical in front of goal.

Any suggestions as to what type of player we need would be most welcome.

We have lost by the single goal five times vs top 6 sides.. four times by more than one goal.

PS I made a small error in my post above. We have of course 2 remaining games vs the top 6.. i forgot Chelsea away in May.

It's difficult to sum up in words, but we need someone who can behave in the way if a sort of ferral, scavenging/predatory mammal, and operate in that way in some sort of 3 dimensional cuboid.

If there's a more succinct, punchy way to say it, I'm not sure. Maybe something like a "coyote in a cube."

I think it bodes well for playing Wolves though. One of Javi’s attributes that attracted the owners was said to be his ability to set up against the better teams and get results. He hasn’t quite managed that this season, but Liverpool aside we’ve been competitive and generally there hasn’t been much in it, as stated in many cases just the odd goal. Anything outside the top 6 where the standard drops just ever so slightly (and then by quite a lot) is completely fair game and more often than not we do very well. Wolves are good, but like us they’re miles off the top 6. Javi will have us set up well and competitive against them and we’re more than capable of getting a result.
