http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42496637 Liverpool finally sign van Djik, but it's costing them a staggering £75m.
Unbelievable. No where near worth it. Not even in todays market. This won't win them any titles. It's laughable that they think this 1 player is the answer to all their issues. Almost feels like stubborness that they have to prove they could beat Southampton down no matter what the cost.
Absolutely. This is a testament to the stupidity of Liverpool's management team and the impact that pundits can have on perception of a player's relative value. At the start of the season certain "experts" were raving about how Virgil Van Dijk was Liverpool's ONLY hope. Southampton should give them a bloody agent's fee for that lovely bit of promotion.
Liverpool fans all over social media treating this like the second coming (after kloppstickle of course). Not entirely sure they're aware of who they've bought. This is their year. Or next year is. Well, this decade at some point will be their year. Actually maybe just after that...
Crazy price. I’m looking forward to the first time Mingolet makes him look like a mug when he either plays him a hospital pass or punches the ball into his face from point blank range.
If you're a Liverpool fan who cares? When your centre backs are Lovren & Klavan you'd take a decent one at any bloody price.
He's a good player. He's better than they've currently got. They are awesome going forward (with their current squad) and distinctly ropey at the back. They've made a start at trying to rectify that. They've overpaid.
