It is being reported on the NewsNow website, that WFC might be interested in bids for TD, NewsNow says that Everton, West Ham and West Brom could all be interested.

They are also claiming that TD has had fallouts with WM and the clubs hierarchy!

The article is suggesting 20 million not 30!

Don't forget: Walsall have a buyback option of around £250k. Could be something in this.

Makes sense off load club captain and top scorer especially as now we can't score in a Brothel!
Would prefer Wally went instead.Okaka ok for back up but not a main striker ,Destro inbound maybe !
Incidentally is Niang leaving or staying as he blows hot and cold ,but at least has pace and talent?

Like I said, I very much doubt Mazzarri and Deeney will be at the club next season. It will be one or the other.

Other than Prodl & Doucoure they can all do one!

Logic tells me this would be terrible for Watford FC, but somehow reading it I don't feel especially apprehensive about the thought of him leaving.

A disaster if talking this time last year but he has this season for the most part looked slow, overweight and generally unfit with no movement off the ball and very quick to criticise team mates when things going wrong.

Time to get rid...... we can do much better

Can we? How fickle. Name me 5 realistic options better than Deeney.

I love Deeney and think he's a genuine legend of Watford FC, BUT I think it might be time for both parties to move on.

He seemingly has A LOT of power in the dressing room. The kind that most managers would want to get rid of, regardless of how good they are (Ibra and Hart for Pep as examples).

I think he's achieved everything he can with us & if we can get £20 mil + for him then I think I would take it. Only negative is he's pretty much the only player we have that has a connection with the fans.

Deeney (or his agent) have likely been leaking stories to the press.

Many articles suggest he displeased with Walt, and preferred Quique (and his lack of discipline).

Walt clearly doesn't rate Deeney as highly as Quique did.

I read this as a 'it's him or me' article from Troy. If Walt stays, I'm sure he will want a replacement over the summer anyway. Deeney doesn't seem the type to be happy with a place on the bench.

Troys been a fantastic servant, and I'd give him a standing ovation if he left and returned to the Vic, but I'm not sure how much we'd miss him on the pitch.

He's looked far less sharp this year and doesn't really have a competitive advantage against defenders in the league, since his passion and drive have been lacking.

All that is fine if he is being a great captain behind the scenes. But from the look of it, he isn't.

Well the history of the dross that has come in in the last two seasons, I suggest they won't find better.

Just get rid of this fecking clown Mazzari, today. It will be no loss and he won't be missed where as Troy would be.

I wouldn't be upset if Troy leaves. Too much of an input into everything if you ask me, didn't we read that deeney was consulted before the appointment of Mazzarri which is unusual and not healthy. I sit in the SEJ and I heard Deeney berating the ball boy for not throwing the ball back quick enough. Constructive criticism is one thing bullying is another.. Get rid me thinks...

Same every year. It's Deeney's team gearing up for another 5-year bumper pay boost.

It will come down to money, it always does. If we get an offer of around £20m then that will be difficult to turn down for a 29 year old. I wouldn't like to see him go, as he has been such an important player. That said we got £20m for Igahlo, and got Cleverly, Zarate and Niang for that money - and wouldn't be surprised if history repeats itself.

    Echoeing above sentiments.

I love Deeney but wouldn't be sad to see him go. His lack of mobility and close control is becoming more of a hindurance every season. I would not mind but he s not really a target man like your Bentekes et al , as he so rarely scores with his head or even has a headed shot at goal. It's always been that way , even when we had good crossers.

There is no question that Deeney has done an enormous amount for this club but there comes a time when maybe it's time to move on. £20m would be almost impossible to turn down and maybe even £15m would tempt us. He's not been anywhere near as good this season as last and this power thing is not good for the club. Would quite rightly be given a tremendous reception his return but I think we be looking for a faster, younger, leaner model. They are out there

I wonder to what extent Deeney has played a role in the sacking of previous managers?

I only get to see games on TV here in Canada but based on that I'd have to say that he still looks overweight and unfit.

Difficult to know but if he plays a role in getting this idiot sacked, he'll get my backing.

Wait until Deeney goes and the abundance of, better, younger, fitter, cheaper, more exciting replacements turn out to be a figment of your imaginations.
People on here go on about loyalty and then turn on one of our own actual heroes, calling him, fat, lazy, troublemaker, disruptive, too big for his boots etc.
This is the supporter attitude that really pees me off.

Sorry Troy it's not you its us, but lets always stay friends

It's got nothing to do with loyalty personally, I just don't think he's good enough anymore despite being one of the best strikers I've ever seen play for us. We're at another level now and I don't think he has any more to offer on the pitch at least.

I still think Troy has a lot to offer us , especially assisting the younger squad members ,we need to bringing quality strikers in ,not offloading them.

Think this could be a classic case of familiarity breeds contempt re Deeney.

An almost guaranteed 10 goal a season striker with leadership/captain like qualities in the Premiership is not easily replaced.

He's worth 20M at least if he does go in the current market & hate to say I actually think he would be quite well suited at Everton, would not be surprised if they made an offer in the summer. He probably could develop his game quite well under Koeman. There was a point in the game tonight where he lost the ball, but went hell for leather & won it back successfully. Who else does that here?

At the very least Deeney gives this club somewhat of an identity, without him what are we left with? Not saying that's right, but it's all we've got at the moment.

I was critical of Deeney earlier in the summer as he was too heavy set at the beginning of the season - but let's not make the blokeca scapegoat - he ploughs a very lonely furrow upfront on his own with very little support from anyone and to say he feeds of scraps is an understatement- the service to him is so poor - he needs a partner up front or at the very least some runners from midfield - yes he is limited at premier league level and perhaps moving towards an impact sub - but he's the best we have and I for one can't think of a viable replacement
