He had a right old moan at Jan Maat I think it was because of how the ball was played to him. A better ball and he would have been through. Definately looked frustrated tonight in the second half.

Yeah. There was that one and another in the first half where we had a 3 on 2 breaking from the centre circle, with him as the man over, but Deulofeu cut back inside and went up a blind alley.

What was going on with that ball boy t*sser. How is that acceptable?

Big vote of confidence in Wilmott from Javi, bringing him into a tough game like this. Was a bit surprised. I'd rather have kept Cleverley on and gone Clev, Capoue, Wilmott in MF myself. We miss the athleticism of Doucoure when he's not in the squad.

Success is a waste of a sub at present unfortunately. It's like he needs a whole new footballing mindset - as literally everyone else can see, he has the physical attributes and is not that bad technically. Just have a bit of fight about you instead of playing for a foul EVERY SINGLE TIME. He is completely concentrating on the wrong things.

Deulofeu is a strange one. With his pace and explosiveness he is completely unique in our squad and important in how we set out to play... but are we actually getting much end product from him? I thought he was good today but would love to see more goals, more assists. He's similar in that regard to Pereyra. We spent a long time without these kind of players who can create something out of nothing, and now have two in the same side. Great when they deliver, but we're a a little toothless and under-powered when they don't.

Janmaat I thought was good, though he was lucky not to give away a pen. Superb delivery from Jose for our goal. Ben Foster made a few good stops including two great reflex saves to keep out own goals from Mariappa then Deeney. There's nothing more he can be doing this season, he's been excellent.

I think we're ending January in the same way we started it - in obvious need of a centre back and something more in attack. Doesn't look like we're going to get either.

Well the good bits were a decent place to stand this time and leaving at full time to get straight to the station and on to a Watford train. No queues.

The rest was a bit sh*t.

The ball boy tried to give it to a Spurs player quickly and Danny Rose shouted abuse at him not to do that and to hold onto instead it so he did.

Deulofeu is brain dead. Gets caught offside, runs with it when he should pass, checks back when he should run, makes terrible runs off the ball. There was a point in the first half when Capoue was breaking and all Deulofeu had to do was stay out wide and it would've opened up but instead he veered inside and ran directly in front of Capoue like he was an NFL blocker, taking himself away as an option out wide and forcing Capoue into traffic.

Having said that, he's by far our most dangerous attacker and at least things happen when he's on the pitch.

Both sides deserved to lose that one. Crap play by 2 crap teams.

I’m a fan of the way Gracia sets us up, but he deserves nothing from taking off a player whose pace Spurs were struggling with (GD), for a lump who was so easy to defend against.

Spurs suddenly had nothing to fear and there was only really one outcome from that point.

Anyway, as Doucs would say: en marche.

Against Palace Javi got the subs very right (Cleverly), tonight taking off Deulofeu didn't work and although I was on the other side of the ground his body language didn't look as if he agreed with the decision and very happy to be subbed, (anyone else think this)!

Just back from the game and i agree with all this-particularly that he at least tries to make things happen.

I thought we played better last year when losing 2-0 when there were chances created whereas tonight we saw Success half volley it wide from near the penalty spot just before they equalised and Deeney shot at Loris from a tight angle and should have got a corner but didn't. I dont recall anything else of note other than Spurs poring forward and spraying passes around as well as winning most 1 on 1 challenges in the middle-Doucoure sorely missed

I did think this would have been a totally undeserved win but for 75 minutes it was on-fair play to the defence who were under what seemed like constant pressure. They made subs which improved their chances of scoring whereas we don't have that quality in depth against a top 3 side.

We competed well but were outplayed and couldn't make enough of a difference to put them under any sustained pressure for longer than a minute

Thought Spurs dominated the second half and frustrating all our clearances went straight back to them. Like an attack v defence training session.

Nonetheless despite the gap in class we had enough chances to get something, had we been able to shoot straight.

Shows again how we are far worse with out Doucoure...

At least our fans were better than theirs! (I was in the home fans who were so quiet it felt like a friendly)

We have a defence whose quality is "mid table" that has to cope with a top side's all out attack that is being continually being supplied by our midfield/attack that just keept giving them the ball back, time and time and time again.

And it seems from Gracia's substitutions, that we have a coach that just does not seem to grasp the situation.

It was like our defenders were playing against all the other 16 players on the pitch, and both coaches.

It was amazing that our defence held out for so long.

As soon as they brought on Moura things changed.

We knew we had to weather an early storm, but he pushed us back so effectively with his pace (and diving) we suddenly had 11 men behind the ball.

The ball wouldn't stick up front when we cleared it even when we didn't have 11 behind the ball, because the balls up were hoof panic clearances, and deeney/ Success couldn't compete.

    It just kept coming back.

I don't know what we could have done. Maybe if success wasn't so pathetic he could have stood up long enough to win a challenge and give us a bit of breather, but that didn't happen. I feel he must be paid per time he collapses in a heap for no reason.

It was a good effort, but for whatever reason we couldn't get any grip on the second half.

Rose and Moura dive even more than Success, which is an achievement.

Quite right. The defence never gave the ball away. All Bobby Moore raking pinpoint passes to the midfield clowns and head jester Success.

  21. We needed to keep hold of the ball.

To achieve that we needed to achieve an overload in the centre of the pitch, to allow us to play out from the back and have more options to pass and play.

The formation should have been 451, with Chalobah in alongside Capoue to retain possession.

My midfield 3 would have been Capoue, Chalobah and Cleverley.

Just seen Ref Watch. Gallagher said that Danny Rose's foul on Janmaat was a clear red card. It looked a bad one.

Was that the one on their goal line? If so the ref didn't even give a foul. It looked like a poor tackle but the commentators said little about it.

  26. When you look at where we struggle, it's against pace. Bournemouth always get the better of us because of the pace they have up front. Zaha is the same. Mourra brought that last night.

We coped with their slow and lethargic players up until that point.

We have a pretty talented squad but there's not a lot of pace in it and were easily turned round giving away lots of free kicks.

Playing chalobah is like playing with 10 men.

Gracia's mistake was taking off deulofeu after 60 mins. They were terrified of him. It was complete madness to bring him off and replace him with that hapless terd success.

Yes. It was a two footed launch with studs showing, straight at Janmaat.

This was the same referee who sent off Capoue for far less at Leciester, and we couldn't get the 3 match ban overturned. It makes you think.

Graham Scott is not very good.

I don't get the Success hate for this game. Whilst he has been poor recently, he played well. He came on and drew fouls whilst holding up the ball and we didn't see most of his usual theatrics for a change. He should have buried one of our very few chances at goal but apart from that he did what we needed him to well. For now, he suits an impact sub role well as he has all the other attributes needed to play in the Prem. Just needs time and patience to learn some game sense.

He's a Tottenham lad, so it's fine. Everyone has a laugh about it. Success got a booking as well.

Seem to remember when we were slow at handing the ball back, it become an international incident though. Lots of bad press and no one thought it was funny. Under Boothroyd I think.

So when the numerous Spurs fans at the club want a tennis ball from now on,I'm going to hang onto them and see how they like it!
Perhaps we should sign Serena Williams. They'd give the ball to her if she wanted it.

I don't think we should be too down about last night. Yes, it was an opportunity as you don't often get the chance to play Spurs without the likes of Kane and Ali, but they still are a formidable side. We didn't have Doucoure either, and as the last two matches have shown, he is so important to us.

Had we held on to a point, I think most would be saying we rode our luck. It's just frustrating because of the time the goals were scored, but Spurs had the quality to turn things their way and we are not that type of team, just yet, to be able to manage a game for 90+ minutes.

We often fall to late goals and it's something we need to overcome if we want to kick on and become a Euro Cup qualifying side.

It's gone a little unnoticed, but we've conceded a lot of goals from 80 minutes onwards this season. 2 at Arsenal, 1 at Everton, 2 at Spurs in the Carabao Cup, 2 at home to Cardiff, 2 more last night.....and even Burnley had a last minute goal incorrectly ruled out last week. That's 9 league goals.

My annoyance was more for the substitution, than the player himself (despite Success being a rather poor goalscorer).

Spurs were nervous of GDs pace, and therefore playing it out into space around the three centre backs was a great out ball to relieve pressure.

Once we took off GD, they simply man marked our strikers out of the long ball, and used their extra defender to cover the flick on. I'm not sure we won more than 1 or 2 long balls all game.

We were crying out for pace up front. So we replaced a fast player with a player whose entire game is to shield the ball, fall over and sometimes win a free kick.

It was mainly because he came on for deulofeu for me. Not his fault, but I just had a bad feeling as soon as gracia made that swap so early on.

My hate is still 100% focused on gracia I assure you.
