A few other club's forums have a special section with a stickied list of individual players. It makes it so much easier to praise/slag them off as you don't have to trawl through pages of historical posts to do so. The only down side is that the page count can run into a multiple of hundreds for each player. Which is the greater evil?
It's been suggested before. The problem is where would you have it? General Watford or Transfers & Rumours. Or would you have one in each? I'm not sure. I think our layout and formatting is pretty decent although it is long overdue for a bit of a tidy up. My OCD is kicking in again.
Sh!t site but I like the software ... quick and smooth just like myself http://tractor-boys.com/forum
A nice simple site with a similar membership of 5000 to us, but look at the throughput. Currently 6 members online We have 26 plus 90 guests. They have 1 thread started today we have five sections that have 1 or more comment in on one or more threads and that's just looking at the forum home page. I'd love to have few sections like that as it makes Mods lives easier but you just wouldn't find anything if we had our throughput in that layout.
I do like the extra 'like' buttons they introduced on arrse.co.uk, any chance of getting something similar?
It uses phbb which is open source free forum software. It's OK for low profile sites but when you get the attention we do and hack attempts it's just not secure. Their database is 2/3 the size of ours and doesn't appear to have many bolt-ons like vbookie, orns polls images etc. At time of writing they had 3 members online, we have 182. to be fair if everyone stopped posting here we'd be quicker.
