I suspect (but can't remember entirely) that the laces were permanently worn into some sort of welded slip-on position.
I suspect you were a similar age to me when this style came out. For me still the coolest trainers ever:
They have a strong side out tonight in the league cup hopefully they will be slightly heavy legged or pick up a suspension to a key player like we did in the last round.
Apparently 'swan upping' was very popular in the late 1700's but then they changed the name from 'anus color' and now only Vintners and Dyers and the very odd monarch do it. The fact they are mute was an advantage apparently. I met someone who bred Polish swans. They aren't mute I was told but he could sell them and now there are millions of them in the U.K. apparently.
Perhaps this is why our current monarch used the phrase annus horribilis. It wasn't to describe an awful year for her and her family but instead it was referring to the unwanted sight of her daughter-in-law's ginger star on Christmas morning at Sandringham.
Didn't we say this last week, just with one day less recovery and 'Champions League' instead of 'league cup'?
Oddly enough my current pair have gray stripes, I've done a lot of running around but haven't scored in them ? Yet.
I believe they are scavengers so probably only swoop on dead children and pets , at least it would save a bit of digging.
Gomes, though I'd like to see the Greek get a game Janmatt Prodl/Mapps Kabasele Holebas Doucoure Chalobah Carrillo Cleverly Richarlison Gray Away from home against lesser opposition I can see us getting 3 points with a good 3 0 win Gray with 2 and Kabasele the goal scorers. Go into the West Bromwich game with loads of confidence
Despite knot being interested in Swans I think we we will take wing and win this one. Chalobah and Doucoure will string them along in the middle of the park, no hitches this time.
Yeah. They look alright. I was certainly a fan of the Adidas football boot but was more of an 'any trainers'll do' kinda guy.
Yes but that was irrelevant really because it was against Manchester City who have world class players sitting on their bench and frankly Swansea don't!
Not many teams in this league I'd expect us to beat but Swansea are definitely one of them. Routledge, Ayew, Naughton, Olsson & Fer all horribly average. Top tier Champ at best. If Renato Sanches and Bony both find their feet in this game (which would be typical Watford luck) then that's the only way we'll lose. Other than that, nobody should be a threat. Abraham is decent, Mawson scores a few from corners but expect us to dominate.
Renato sanches is the most overrated player in the premier league. He's complete, total and utter toss. b..b..b..but he's got a funky hair cut! Yeh, so does this chap, and he's ****.
I used to be a big admirer of how Swansea used to play the game under Rodgers and Martinez but they are not an attractive team to watch anymore. Paul Clement unquestionably knows how to organise a defensive structure and Swansea’s emphasis even at home will no doubt be on the defensive side of the game. In our next two games we will most likely have a large percentage of possession for an away team against defensive sides and it will be interesting to see how we go about things. I think the first goal could be an important one if we get it they will have to come out and play and we can exploit spaces and play our impressive counter attacking game however if we concede first then it could potentially be very difficult to break them down as Tottenham seen the other evening. Swansea are not a great side and Renato Sanches has been very underwhelming up to now and I believe he has struggled to adapt to the frantic pace of the premier league.
Yep - agreed. I think win, lose or draw are equally possible. Quite likely just one or two moments will decide it. What I would predict is a low-scoring match. The betting odds for it being first on MOTD will be very low indeed.
My first football boots were from Woolworths. I was so proud - they had removable studs complete with ring spanner.
How many tickets we sold? Official website typically unhelpful. Do they not realise that fans get excited of the news we've sold out/got a huge away following to look forward to?
When does Pereyra come in do you think? Cleverly more likely to play against a top 6 side in my opinion. Side note: How good is Richarlison in the air? Anyone noticed if we go long it tends to be to his head and he always seems to have an advantage against the fullback.
I think Pereyra should again start on the bench, coming on for the last 30 minutes perhaps. With our attacking midfield three in good form, there's little point in rushing him back. You could bring him in for Richarlison, but as you say Richarlison is excellent in the air, and without him we become a little more one-dimensional. Pereyra does the same donkey work that Cleverley does, but has much more finesse on the ball, so I expect him to come into that CAM role when fully fit.
