It really annoys me when I take the trouble to log out and then log back in as RC and people completely misinterpret my messages.

The ref thought Yoshida had actually touched the ball hence disallowing their goal and presume he though Bertrand also got the when tackling Chalobah ..

A case of where having the ref explaining his decisions might have helped .

Holebas has scored or assisted more goals this season (6 in total) than any other defender in the PL. Quite some feat when you consider the good form and output of the likes of Mendy, Alonso and the Liverpool fullbacks.

We’ve taken twice as many points from losing positions this season (4 now) than we’ve surrendered from winning ones (2).

Controversy never seems far away when we play Southampton. Last season we snatched a point with a goal that VAR would have instantly disallowed. This season we got away with not conceding one that VAR would probably have given.

Lots of ifs and maybes, but the truth is we have dragged ourselves in front of some of the so called bigger clubs. Next run of 4 games gives us a greater challenge but also a good test. We have proved awkward for Klopp at the Vic at least and we should not be overawed by Lester or Everton. Only City look completely unbeatable on current form.

Last season’s home match we’d have lost had VAR been in use and Silva would have been sacked there and then.

This season had VAR been in use, we’d have got the penalty, probably would have scored and Bertrand would certainly have been sent off. The subsiquent “goal” Southampton scored would probably never have occurred.

So the way I see it, over the two games it’s balanced out. We’d have won one and lost one. Although both clubs would have been 2 points better off over all in the respective seasons.

This is a bit pre thinking but the Everton game.

Will or could it possibly be a grudge match? I know the crap Snake did to us and all that, but Lu**n are our rivals and all. I’m only saying this because I can see extra security on the day.

Silva being escorted out, one with him and another guard carrying his watch.

  8. Not much use having them as rivals when it's over twelve years since we last played them - and could well be another twelve before we play them again. I'll happily stick to having Everton until they're relegated - then we'll just have to cast the net around for someone else. Maybe Arsenal? Our record against them actually isn't too bad...

Or to put it another way, why on earth would a team who has won a major trophy want a team who hasn't won a jot as their rivals?

And taken about 8 yards away from where the foul was committed.

The lino not so eagle eyed when it comes to the big team.

Forget the semi final, it robbed us from winning the FA Cup itself. We would have beaten Southampton in the semi and we would have beaten Everton this time in the final.

Just watched The Debate. They talked about the Southampton disallowed goal. It was only about that and how unlucky Southampton were. Stuart Pearce and Andy Townsend both said Southampton would have gone on to win the match if that goal had stood.

Massive sympathy for Austin, that his goal was chalked off. They even mentioned Redmond being denied an assist....FFS.

Not once did they mention the penalty or potential red card. It's just so weird that in the same match, the other controversial incident is completely ignored, as if it didn't happen. Now the conversation has gone in this direction, the match will always be remembered as Southampton were robbed of 2 points.

Just like when Capoue fouled Zaha. That was discussed and focused on for weeks. I saw a Chelsea player do the exact same thing in a recent match, and in the slow motion it was clear he raked his studs down the back of his opponents leg. What was done about it? Absolutely nothing. It was just ignored and never spoken of again.

I just hate how the media pick and choose what they report on, always painting Watford as the villains.

  19. Yet he remains 'unpunished' too as far as I'm aware.

To be honest, I'm more annoyed that the game will now be remembered for the 'goal that should have stood', with no thought given to the penalty that should have been awarded.

  20. Hughes on sky sports news just now still discussing the disallowed goal and var.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that it would've helped us first, but they didn't mention it so I must be mistaken.
