The kids are with the in laws this weekend. We're supposed to pick them up tomorrow. I've already written them off due to the snow. Too risky.

Snow refers to forms of ice crystals that precipitate from the atmosphere (usually from clouds) and undergo changes on the Earth's surface. It pertains to frozen crystalline water throughout its life cycle, starting when, under suitable conditions, the ice crystals form in the atmosphere, increase to millimeter size, precipitate and accumulate on surfaces, then metamorphose in place, and ultimately melt, slide or sublimate away.
It's also the suff that when collected together to form a 1/4 inch layer causes complete and utter chaos.

Who’s already thinking they won’t be getting into work tomorrow? Me for starters, which is a shame as I drive a snow plough

You predicted this bang on Moose. What do you do at the Beeb Moose? Are you a weather presenter?

Everybody else thought it was too cold to snow, which is always a strange comment just look to the North Pole! But, maybe there is something to that theory. They say the icecaps are shrinking but is it just because it’s just too damn cold for snow?

When my dad drove a bus he hit a snow plough that was covered in a snow drift at the side of the road.

It opened up the bus like a tin opener. Fortunately no one else was on board. He had some explaining to do when he got back to the depo though.

I do the weather, but I always run the forecast by Jeremy Corbyn first. BBC bias innit?

No, the snow plough incident happened on the 346 bus back in 1963 I believe.

People do go skiing for the weekend in Sydney. It's about a 10 hour drive away though. I've been told there was a snow shower in the city once in June. But that was before I lived there.

I went to the Blue Mountains near Sydney in August 2004. They have a Christmas shop there and for a couple of weekends in August some of the pubs and hotels serve Christmas dinner. No snow though - though it was damned cold once the sun went down.

It started off as "Christmas in July". There are a lot of Brits out west and the idea was to have a "proper" cold, wintery Christmas.

I can understand that. Having a BBQ and heading for the beach on Christmas Day is nice but it doesn't feel right. I tried doing the full Turkey and trimmings dinner once but it was hard going in 35 degree heat!

Yes, I was in NZ with my cousin in March and he said they found Christmas in the summer a bit weird. About the only thing they missed from the Uk, so far as I could see.

Put loads of food out for the birds and then it turned pure Hitchcock. A couple of dozen seagulls, assorted rooks, jackdaws and pigeons all going barmy. Cat swearing at them through the patio doors.

Well, our village fete has been cancelled which is a shame because people had put a lot of effort in. You’d have thunk that the snow would just add to the Christmas feel. We had some youngsters came around earlier to sell cakes, pickles and other items that had been made that now won’t be sold, either that or I’ve just been scammed for a few quid.

We’ve had a couple of small power cuts lasting a few minutes, I assume a power line went down with the weight of the snow but we’re OK.

Talking of pathetic people, some people think they’re invincible. This morning the father in law phoned to say he wouldn’t be up today, why? Because he was already stuck on the M25 along with every other ‘invincable’ who could’nt get up the ramp to exit into Chorleywood. Did he learn? No, after getting to his destination he went to Asda in Watford before going home. Oh to be retired and drive a 4x4......

I was informed about the Sky lost signal, don’t know if it was internet or TV. This pathetic attitude is learned at a young age. A few weeks ago, I was around the sister-in-laws. Her boy is on games machines or tablets constantly. The power went off for a while which was met with mild confusion. The sister-in-law needed to go to the shop, to which her son’s response was ‘you can’t, the internet is down’. We had to explain that that doesn’t stop you leaving the house and walking or driving a car.............yet.
