It was that point that Scott realised, after everything, the only answer our coach had to the problems was signing a Leicester reserve on loan.

Well its from Mike Walters the known watford fan who allegedly would be used to leak internal club thoughts into the mainstream media for multifarious purposes.

Of course Duxbury could have also been annoyed at the miss by AG following his/the boards sanction of his purchase or maybe Duxbury himself is under pressure from Gino

Probably though, like the rest of us who witnessed this trait of conceding goals in quick succession he was thoroughly p****d off and wanted out of the ground asap.

I'm not itk but I'd say that it's definitely true that they expected more than 10 points from 39

The amount of line up changes they've had you can probably be in the Sugababes.

There is usually some truth in these stories. I'm sure both GP and SD were very angry with what they saw against Swansea.

Three of the last four performances have been well below the expected standard. After tomorrow's defeat it will be 10 losses from the last 14. We're as bad now as the lowest points under Mazzarri and QSF.

The board has spent money and the squad is a much better one than what we had in season 2015-16, so excuses are thin on the ground for this run of results.

Had we lost to Leicester I think the Swansea performance would have been the last straw for Silva. We will obviously lose at City, but it does depend on the manner of defeat. If it's another roasting and poor display then I'd expect he'll only have Southampton to save his job.

I believe he's still only a couple of bad performances away from being sacked. A run like the one we're on rarely gets reversed.

Personally I was 100% behind Silva when he arrived, but the way he dealt with the Everton approach has done a lot of harm as to how he is seen within the club and by the fans.

Journalists could never be accused of exageration or sensationalism, of course.
Are you sure this isn't the usual Red-top mischief-making? Since it was the end of the match I imagine he did leave, as did everybody else. Would he have looked pleased? No. But then it was a sh*t performance and a sh*t result.
We are in the midst of a dreadful run, it's not impossible that Silva gets the sack (but it is unlikely). Yep, we know all that, but this news-line is non-news.

We are 10th in the league.

Let's not get all Spursy and get delusions of grandeur.

If we go down then fine, give him the boot.

I don't think being 10th shows much about us, rather how rubbish the best (or most exciting or whatever latest marketing buzz word currently in use) league in the world is.
For all the money sloshing around the PL has few of the best players.

Trying not to get relegated is kinda the point.. sacking him once we're down helps him more than us.

Anyway, there's no way Marco should go yet, we're not going to get relegated, if new signings don't make a difference then I might change my mind but right now I believe it's a quality issue rather than manager.

Before Leicester nobody could see where the next win was coming from, then we fluked that. Now nobody can see the next win again but we'll easily pick up the remaining we need, 5 wins is easy.

And to be honest, the only way is up, we're sh*t at the moment, when Femenia & Chalobah return we'll be a little less ****. If we sign a good centre back we'll start to be average, if we sign a good striker then heck we might even have a good team on our hands and people will talk about Europe again.

In all realism, what team-changing players of PL standard that can hit the ground running, that are in any way affordable are available in the January window? Might get lucky with a loan or two but I can't see us successfully pulling off a near whole team overhaul that some seem to be demanding.

For me he has Southampton. Watford MUST win that game. If we lose again, then he has to go. How could any club justify keeping a coach with such a terrible record. If we lose to the Saints, it will be 11 defeats from 15 games, with just 15 to go.

Consider some of those games are United (a), Spurs (a), Leicester (a), Chelsea (h), Arsenal (a), Liverpool (a).....5 more wins looks remarkably tight.

I've read, across the various posts, that we need a keeper, 2 full backs, at least one, but probably 2 centre halves who are better than what we have and are also leaders on the pitch, an attacking midfielder, wingers to supply competition for Carillo and Rich and allow for them to rest and a goalscoring, target man striker.

I don't disagree with any of this necessarily in terms of the need, but realistically we can expect one, maybe 2 players who will actually impact the first team. It's january and well probably sign more Zigglers than Richarlisons.

It’ll be easier to just support another team. There is no way I’m getting involved in pulling off the whole team just to see if they’ll up their game a bit.

But remember under the current rules, we can pull off a maximum of 3 players in 90 minutes.

    Surely that’s feasible.

    It’s hardly Debbie Does Dallas.

Reminds me of GT’s story about when he was requesting a salary increase at Lincoln. The wily old farmer who was chairman asked that GT come to the farm & somehow contrived that GT was milking a pig during the critical discussion.

Unsurprisingly, this blunted even GT’s persuasive powers. He didn’t receive quite the rise he wanted but did acquire an unusual life skill.

It’s worth considering that although Zola technically ‘resigned’ he was very much the Pozzo’s man and surely would’ve benefited from far more leniency than anyof our managers since. He went after a record of 9 games without a win and 5 straight home defeats. Although we’ve beaten Leicester recently Silva’s bad run extends far further back, and if he doesn’t get results from the Southampton and Stoke games it’s hard to rationalise how such an extended bad run can go on without something happening.
