We are coming to UK in March/April and are thinking of taking a short break in Rome via Ryanair. My wife has limited mobility and I'm wondering how much help Ryanair gives in these circumstances. Their website isn't very specific. Because of two knee replacements she needs extra legroom. Has anyone with mobility challenges who has travelled with Ryanair have any insights to share.
Are you really going to fly Ryanair after everything that has happened recently? Maybe David O’Leary was right after all. I’m buying Ryanair stock tomorrow!
As for the travelling bit sorry Ron I can’t be of any help. I flew easyJet recently and you can prereserve specific seats and those with extra leg room. If you require extra time to get on board they also provide speedy boarding for added cost. Hope this helps.
The last Bryanair flight I went on didn't have reclining seats and they were pretty uncomfortable, don't know if that makes a difference but it's a small bit of info for you.
Haven't been on Bryanair in donkeys years, last time I was on one bits of light and trim kept falling off the ceiling
I'm pretty sure that in the disability discrimination act that they can't charge extra in order to make provision for her. Is she registered as disabled? There may be a separate phone number for that.
Treat the journey as part of the holiday and upgrade to an airline that at least pretends to give a **** about you.
If you're going via Gatwick I had a very good experience after visiting the "Special Assistance Reception" and getting a lanyard from them - this seemed to be some sort of Golden Ticket that transported us to parallel universe where every single person either working for, or in, the airport gave us service and assistance you only see in TV adverts (from preferred seating to queue "jumping"). It might be worth seeing if your airport does similar.
