July 28th, 4:52pm... ....still no away goals and Andre Gray scores the winner for Brentford in his first game back for his old club. Calling it.
If you believe the leak of the opening day fixtures, we kick off with an away trip to Leicester. They were the first team we played in our miserable run without a goal on the road, so it would be a nice bit of symmetry if the leak were to be true and then we go there and score.
Back in the day I really used to enjoy that fixture, used to live in Sarratt in my early teenage years.
Don't think it can be right. Us big boys don't play other top teams at the beginning or end of the season. Be more plausible if they had us away at Goodison or Craven Cottage or somewhere.
To be fair, Leicester away suits VR as he'll be camped out at the Esso garage there all summer getting the latest transfer stories for us all.
Brentford away.... well it's winnable. Be quite funny if Snaky had been appointed their manager for some bizarre reason. Talk about a pre-season grudge match.
So it was definitely him! I’m afraid in future I’ll have to read his measured & insightful analysis through an ominously smeared lens. I live in the vicinity of the incident.
Well if that happened then he can proudly say he really is a creature to be squashed being in charge of a colony of Hornets and Bees. Due to resolutely screwing over both clubs.
Pre-season friendly with Stevenage. No surprise there, as this was probably part of the Wilmot deal. https://www.stevenagefc.com/news/20...e-season-friendly-stevenage-friday-27th-july/ However, we do play Brentford the next day, so I will suspect it will be fringe squad players and youth team, rather than first team players.
