I assume what with the trend now being to sod everyone’s bank balance and release new shirts every season, coupled with the fire sale of old stock online that we are getting new shirts?

Anyone know if it will still be Adidas? FX Pro?

Very unlikely I know but I like what they’ve done with Germany/Colombia/Spain etc kits for the World Cup - modern interpretations of old classic designs. Would be keen for something similar....but what shirt would you want re-working if you could?

When we ditched Dryworld we signed a deal with Adidas, we were too late to have a good template for last season but I imagine next season we will see something more bespoke.

I understand the kit will be a striking organza dress in pink tulle with matching pearls and a diamante Monte Carlo necklace.

The shoes are in brushed pigskin with gold clasps by Maxwell of Bond Street.

The hair is by Roger and the whole ensemble is crowned by a spectacular array of Christmas Orchids.

Will Meghan be wearing it tomorrow though?

Maybe. But WBA had been with Adidas for at least a year previous to us and they had the same template as us last season.

    I want something that's disgusting.

Absolutely horrible. Clashes in more ways than anyone could think possible.

Pinks, browns, light greens, neon purples. Irregular dashes and blobs all over the shirt. Like a colour blindness test on acid.

Black shorts though, obviously. I'm not a barbarian.

I believe the official kit comes with crutches. Really makes you feel part of the team.

I asked about this after the fans forum at the vic a couple of months ago. Its not bespoke, its a template, but they had not seen another team with the same template in England at that point in time.

...until Morecombe signed up to the same template probably last week.

    ****ing tinpot.

Why are we always so late in releasing ours?

Many teams release their home shirt during the last game of the season. We're lucky to launch ours within two weeks of our season starting!

Stylised socks are where it's at in the kit style stakes these days; think Arsenal this season gone. We need a melding of 'Orn yellow and black in an innovative yet classic meeting of style and substance.

I would watch Watford even if they came out to play in tangerine shirts and black shorts.

Err.......actually no I wouldn't, having been one of the travelling Hornets at Bloomfield Road on New Year's Day 1972 when Watford came out in white shirts and black shorts (for youngsters that was L*t*n's kit at the time). We booed them soundly for several minutes and they lost 5-0 to Blackpool.

    They've not done that since.........

I never knew that! However in my head L*t*n’s colours are still white and black to this day.

I was going to say the same thing, surely arranging manufacturer and sponsors are the only things you need wait for, but they could be tied up by March with better planning. Getting the kit ready 3 months earlier would enable kids with birthdays in May, June and July to have it as a present.

Wish we could go back to wearing yellow for every game like the old days unless there's a colour clash if playing someone like Wolves or Norwich.

It's our U.S.P. think Dortmund you think yellow, we have the best colours in our league lets sell it, it will earn more in the long term than sales of 'away' shirts but the club can still flog them for the novelty factor, and the wolves trip of course. Meanwhile the famous yellow will be on screens across the world building the 'brand'

No one goes to a Holland v Brazil game hoping they play in their blue kits, I think we are missing a trick

Couldn't agree more. We should be proud of our colours and wear them at every opportunity.

Where I think we have messed this up is by consistently changing the colours of the away kit. Just pick a colour and stick to it.

I also don’t agree with wearing the away kit needlessly but I think everyone knows we play in yellow. Think you are slighly overstating the fact it would make more money. Selling two shirts would obviously make more money - because WFC fans are nowhere near fanatical to have a sea of yellow shirted fans at every game.

What Dortmund do well is have a home and away kit, that are just the same colours but switched around. Black and yellow, with each colour taking dominance in each kit.

I've often thought a reverse of our colours would make a good permanent change strip, usually after watching Belgium play for some reason, i'd still rather see us in yellow especially under lights, there's something special about that, why do we play in an away kit that looks like every other club? It had a touch of the Boro this year, wonder if it's blue next year again like Everton - hope not

I would maintain the stance of the Yellow USP making more money than selling away shirts for the simple reason the away shirt will still be used if it was for one game, as this coming season there is a great opportunity for this with the Wolves trip, therefore there will still be many sold, the novelty factor of the change strip being rare will be a good selling point

More importantly long term, fans could be gained in Asia and all around the world by using the Yellow branding, it is as simple as that sometimes, there's a reason many global brands have a colour scheme all of their own and brand awareness associates a certain colour with a certain product.

As for a bank of yellow, come summer it shows with everyone in shirts especially in away games, stop off at the motorway services and you know we're in town. I would go further with the yellow as aanother issue I have is the lack of yellow outer clothing sold by the club. For years I've wanted a plain yellow hoodie, with a the badge on it, or a bit of red/black piping or design etc but mainly yellow, but no. You go to the shop each time -blue hoodies, grey hoodies, black hoodies, the missus ends up trawling the internet looking for a yellow hoodie, not a club product but it's yellow, getting the right yellow can be a sod though. A yellow hoodie with a black hood would be a good design if anyone from the club is reading. Same goes for jackets, in winter in the Rookery you see guys wearing yellow puffer jackets, or yellow wooly hats without the club logo. This shows the club is missing a trick again, missing sales and missing the USP we have, we're not going to be the biggest or the best but we have the best kit in the prem,

You don't need to be fanatical to wear yellow you just need the options available

We are nowhere near significant a club though to be thought of as a ‘brand’. We aren’t highly thought of enough outside of our own fan base for anyone to really care what colours we wear.

As for the Asia thing, we have no foothold there whatsoever, so the colour of a shirt or what regularity we wear it with means nothing. Unless we have Asian ownership, an Asian player or do a tour of Asia, that won’t happen anytime soon.

I agree totally that's why we should build it globally, the opportunity is there.

  35. Burnsy

But there has to be an opening to do so. There is really no need for us to be looking globally when we aren't commercially nailing what we are doing domestically. Just wearing our home shirt 99% of the time won't change that. A big name player from a big country who's name will be emblazoned on the back is an easier route into those markets.
