Guess you saw it's 10 grand for the overall winner. I think it's likely to be someone with a graphic design background (not Carlos) who will produce the winning design. The design brief states it has to be a hornet and can be any shape though adds "Watford FC like that its current badge isn't a traditional circle or shield shape" So i guess they are looking for something alone the same lines as we already have. My guess is the club are wanting a hornet design for marketing purposes but are going for a Brexit type public vote to appease the traditionalists. "they arent going to vote that silly moose thing back in.. are they?" (our poll stands on 50/50 for a new badge)

Almost. Some smart-arse branding expert will tell the club that a downward pointing logo ie the bottom of our badge is negative. So, all of what you suggest but flip the badge upside down so the point goes up.

Why don't you just use the original badge as the background (maybe changing the colours and font)? That pentagon looks a bit odd/bottom heavy. And why does the hornet appear to be wearing a bikers' helmet? Aside from that, the hornet at least looks alright relative to others posted here - did you draw it yourself or find and adapt the graphic?

Not bad. Probably best I've seen and that includes the 'pros'. It does look a bit like the Wolves eyes thing and it does look like a bee. Not sure how we are going to get past that though.
Funny how people see things different ways. Personally i like the shape of that pentagon and think the current one is "top heavy" The one top right here is my favourite badge that the club has produced (in the 70's) though i dont think it ever appeared on a kit? Overall i think people seem to prefer the more cartoonish designs.. which is worrying.
No.. i mean yeah, i saw someone mention it on here but wasnt sure of the meaning (ive since googled it) PS If the public can vote for Brexit i shouldnt be at all surprised if we end up with a cartoon hornet!
What else can it be though? The hert is already very cartoony. That's the nature of designing a badge I think.
Well there's cartoony and there's not so cartoony. The Hornet on Nath's badge wouldnt look out of place in a comic book.. our current moose would and some other designs are more stylised than ours. Actually some badges dont have anthing particular depicted on them at all, Stoke & Fulham for instance.. and in Europe it's often the case. PS It wont be another hart (hert) on our redesigned badge. It has to be a hornet or the existing badge.
