Another 4 games moved for the television gods: https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/fixtures-games-moved-tv 3 home, 1 away.
As disruption goes that's not the worst it could have been. Utd 15 minutes delayed, Chelsea is an annoyance, but not like its a trip to Newcastle where trains need to be booked etc (for the majority).
I'd prefer less 'glamorous' games on TV and have us play games we have a better chance of playing well and winning. Hopefully we won't be cannon fodder like we were a few times last season.
Agree, however we did put in an excellent shift in our 3-4 defeat at Chelsea, then there was Man U at home!
Chelsea away will now be moved back to the Saturday as they are into the next round of the league cup..
Yes as both the Saturday lunchtime and Monday eve slots are sky. Presumably the original lunchtime game has moved to Monday night
Chelsea also play Roma on the 18th, albeit at Stamford Bridge. Still they will have to be at their best to win that game. They will then only have Thursday and Friday to recover before a 12:30pm KO against us. I can see Conte complaining about this. This also benefits us because our game against Stoke the following weekend now means we have the same recovery period as they do. It's a long way off but I can see us going to the bridge now and getting a point.
I've just noticed (apologies if pointed out before) that in the 12 weeks Aug 27 - Nov 18 inc., we play a grand total of three home games. Instead of this tedious stop start nonsense, when 90% of qualifiers are uncompetitive rubbish anyway, why not have an international campaign in one big yawn inducing hit and start the season late, so at least we get some continuity?
There is talk of some games being moved to Christmas Eve, I hope the PL and Sky see sense and not do that. *Fat chance
If they want Christmas Eve games whilst upsetting away fans as little as possible it'll be: 1 Stoke WBA 2 Brighton Watford 3 Lesta Man U All the rest are opposite ends of the country.
No chance with the first 2! They want Arsenal v Liverpool and West Ham v Newcastle (for some reason!) Plus Leicester v Man U but the Leicester Tigers are already playing on Christmas Eve at home so....
He probably has the same 6 year calender I have. It's marvelous, lets you know the dates Christmas, Easter, New Year and everything falls on for the next six years
