Nokia banging out modern copies of their classic phones I did a little reminiscing. I appear to have had 9 phones in me life. Apart from a couple of stints with work phones I've always bought outright and then had Pay in advance or sim only contracts so kept them for a good few years.

Nokia 4110 because it had snake

Siemans C35 because I could program in ring tones. I programmed the cantina band theme from star wars into it. Everyone at the time though it was amazing.

Nokia 8310 because it was tiny and it had snake.

Imate Jam because it ran windows and could play mp3s and worked as a sat nav. tiny little metal smartphone with a stylus pen thing. Would love one now if it ran android.

Nokia 6310 x2 work phones. very good and capable but obviously boring.

HTC Touch HD - because it ran windows and was "HD" Got slow towards the end but back in the day when you could buy new batteries for them.

Blackberry Storm. Because it was the first work smart phone I was allowed. Woefull worst phone ever had. Slow battery lasted about 5 mins.

HTC one - best smartphone at the time, great for stereo sound on movie playback had beats audio when beats audio was good. only got rid because the battery died.

Samsung Galaxy S7 current. Still very happy with it.

Loved the little ‘flip-top’ phones before the days of ‘smart’.

I'll sell you a lovely little black retro samsung 500 quid. No cable, sold as seen.

Forgot i also had a sony t3 after htc one that broke up and fell to pieces. Terrible build quality and a low end phone. But it was only 90 pounds.

Had one of those and also had an L6 which was basically the non flip version. Excellent phones.

I remember getting an LG Cookie as soon as it came out (by chance, I wasn't waiting for it) and it was one of the first affordable touch screen phones. Made me popular in school for a day or two, the girls in my year used to love writing their name with a stylus on it. In hindsight if I had've been smoother I should've told them to try writing their number too.

Slightly embarrassing to admit, but I still miss my Blackberry Bold 9700. Perfect form & did everything you needed it to, for work as well.

Pretty sure I'm the only person here who still misses a 2009 retrograde keyboard!

My first was a Sony Ericsson T20

My first contract was 12 months and for nearly 10 years I replaced my handset every 12 months, I can't remember each handset I've had. The ones I got on best with were the HTC handsets I had, I'm currently using a Sony Xperia which is nice. I've never been a fan of Samsungs.

Four phones since 2000. Currently got a Huawei, prior to that a Samsung and God knows what I had before that - a red one and a flip one. All PAYG.

The Huawei's good for what I want it for, which isn't much!

I'm sure what I post on this forum is of great interest to them.

  13. I actually programmed z cars into my Siemens c35. Took forever to put in as you had to play it after each couple of notes to make sure it was still right.

I always remember when my mate got his wap phone. Internet on a phone. Black magic feckery.

I've had a few phones, some good some awful. These are what I can remember having.

First phone was a Motorola 8900 (or something very similar)

    Ericsson A1018

Ericsson T28 in bright blue. Still my favourite phone for some reason. Left it on a tube train.

Nokia 8210. I wanted the 7110 at the time as it looked cool on The Matrix but was actually gash.

Phillips Xenium. No idea why I had one of these but it weighed very little. That's about all it had going for it.

Nokia 3310 etc. Had one in various guises for a few years as a work phone. Very reliable.

Nokia 8210. Loved it, perfect mobile phone. Probably the last small phone I had before they all started getting bigger again.

    Nokia 7610

    There's a bit of a gap I can't fill, I'm sure I had something soon after but can't remember.

I then went through a phase of Sony phones as they had the ability to play MP3s. Not sure how many I had or in what order but I remember these.

    W910

    K850 (second hand I think)

    T303 (plastic crap)

Around the same time I also went through a few Blackberry's with work. I remember various Curve's and Pearl's. All were awful.

Now I've sold my soul to Apple and had iPhones for a few years now. Same with work phones.

I've loved this looking these up. Cheers :)

The Samsung A300 was my favourite phone. Not because it was particularly good, but I was quite young at the time and when you got a message the screen would light up blue with an envelope and the light would flash red. It’s sad, but I found it quite exciting.

When I was selling office equipment in the City in 1990 I was often having to use the companies one "mobile phone" which actually resembled a smallish car battery with a handset on top, (I can't remember the make) which I had to carry around all day, appointment to appointment. It was absolutely useless as it wouldn't work near tall buildings.

But with my sharp suit, white socks and mobile, I looked the business.

    Not.

I was the proud owner of this beast - a phone that expanded to give you a full keyboard.

    The peak of phone innovation...
