A cached page from the FA’s website on April 19 shows that the wealthy Russian petrochemicals trader was alleged to have placed 611 bets on football in breach of the governing body’s rule E8. However, the website now shows no outstanding charge against him, nor any mention of the charge, and the FA has refused to say if it was dropped or was posted in error. Bournemouth have insisted that they are unaware of any issues about betting charges.
