So the Leicester job is vacant, Bilic Koeman under pressure and maybe throw Klipity Klop in the mix too. Can see Wet Spam sacking Bilic and approaching Ancelotti just to be laughed at and end up giving Pardew another go. Who to replace Koeman if he goes? I can see Everton giving him to Jan but the players seem to of lost interest playing for him today against Arsenal.
Bilic is out of contract I understand come the end of the season - maybe the WH owners will stick with him and just hope they do enough to stay up. I am not sure any manager will get the best out of Everton without a decent striker there.
It would have been a decent job for Silva to take if he could have got in there at the start of this summer I'd say. If he'd turned them around and got them into the top 4 that would have been some achievement, and there was loads of money there to do it with. Koeman has left behind an utter mess now though of course, and you'd have to be bonkers to take it on. Hopefully they recruit duncan ferguson or some other in-house ex player who gets them relegated. I'd love it, just love it, if they went down. I think they'd plummet down the leagues if it happened.
I dont reckon the everton fans will be happy with that. The tide is turning against howe now. Hope he does go there though, and takes them down while bournemouth stay up. The more small teams in the premier league and the fewer big teams the better it is for us.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Malts, but it seems to me that 93.4% of Prem clubs that sack their manager play Watford next. There again, 93.5% of statistics are made up. But not yours ....
I find this an odd one. Dyche has certainly built a good reputation, but he's done so by playing direct and with grit. Is he the manager to take over a team that's just spent near to £100m on technical midfielders? When managers like Tuchel, Karanka, Escriba all remain unemployed.... Yet if they're willing to pay compensation (as they have shown by the interest in Dyche) then the list of potential candidates grows quite substantially, and Dyche wouldn't even make my personal list of 5 (Jokanovic would probably break into this list as well!). The level of inadequacy at football clubs is absolutely baffling.
No, but I've heard the oldest one (see above). Seriously though, I'd be interested to know just how many times Watford have faced a team that's just sacked their manager - it certainly seems that we've been unusually unlucky in this.
Everton will probably have to spend another 100 million to bring in the players they really need like a striker and commanding defender. Suspect the fans will want a high profile name but probably won't get. They certainly don't want Moyes back!
OK Malts, here's two I particularly like: A statistician's wife had twins. He was delighted. He rang the minister who was also delighted. "Bring them to church on Sunday and we'll baptize them," said the minister. "No," replied the statistician. "Baptize one. We'll keep the other as a control." A: I used to think correlation implied causation. Then I took a statistics class. Now I don't. B: Sounds like the class helped. A: Well, maybe.
Surely must be a wind up! https://talksport.com/football/west...ord-boss-walter-mazzarri-reports-171023259296
It doesn't totally surprise me. It's the mentality that a manager must be good to keep a little team like Watford in the premier league so, if you give him a bigger budget then he will do even better for a "big team" like "us". You'd be surprised how ignorant other fans are to the level of cr4p we were served up most of last year by Mazzarri.
This is wonderful. West Ham, Everton, Leicester all interested in Mazza, apparently. The two lucky losers could go for other Watford flops - Florrie, Roeder and Bassett are all available, I believe.
Lord help Nutty Walt trying to learn/not learn English from a scouse accent! Harry Enfield as translator?
Pundits were all raving about Everton's transfer business in the summer ........ shows how stupid they are Not replacing Lukaku ..... criminal
Mazzarri's agent has been earning his corn in the last couple of weeks. Getting his name in all the papers linked with every PL job going. It's all make believe but it's funny to watch them lap it up.
Expect Chris Coleman to go to Everton, Strachan to go to Leicester Moyes will have to wait for someone like stoke to become available
Everyone and their cat linking Dyche to Everton. I have a hunch he may go to WHU. He played for them didn't he?
Only bankruptcy and complete oblivion would be sufficient payback for the most grotesque act of cheating the game has ever seen. I reckon.
Whilst I totally agree that it was poor not replacing Lukaku, you only have to look at what he cost Utd and how he’s started to see what these types of players are worth. They’d have had to invest 80/90% of the money back into a striker, if not all of it. Will a striker that good and worth that much go to Everton? Surely he’d have better offers? I’d say it was just as bad spending £45m on Sigurdsson. They should’ve gone for Defoe as a stop gap. We know we needed a striker (perhaps still do) and we could only really discuss Lucas Perez or Simeone as options as they are scarce...and spent near £20m on Gray. Everton have been dreadful. And their recruitment just as bad. But I think they were in an impossible situation in terms of replacing Lukaku. Couldn’t keep him and current market made it very very difficult to replace him. I don’t rate him too highly (just personal opinion) but they should have gone for Okaka maybe - not long term but similar physical attributes to Lukaku and they could have played to that. I always knew Pickford made the wrong decision though. Can’t wait for him to rectify that in January.
