He could be off for all we know, or he could come back and absolutely flop, but for now, can we just dream of him banging 30 goals next season and firing us to the title?

I feel dreadfully sorry for Real Zaragoza fans, but he is a Watford asset and needs to be protected, especially as we have been relegated and he is expected to play a big part in our campaign for promotion. What use is he to us if Pozzo decides to cash in but Suarez gets injured in the playoffs?

Also, him playing in the playoffs will mean he is not ready for pre-season. That would be a massive blow, especially as we all saw what happens when you have a bad pre-season..

It's a kick in the teeth for Zaragoza, but they and any other club worth their salt would be doing exactly the same in our situation.

Players being recalled from loan is just a fact of life unfortunately, we should know as we've been on the receiving end of it before

 

I remember when we had Adam Johnson on loan, and he was recalled by Boro. We were top of the league at the time, and fell away after that. Boro we’re within their rights to recall Johnson, and we are doing nothing wrong he getting Suraez back. I have no idea whether he is suited to the Championship, but the thought of a new no.9 is very appealing

Thought we were being out of order here but from what I can see the date for the play offs hasn't even been set due to some Covid related complications.

We can't hang on forever and if we do want to him to join us then he needs a break.

Two years left on his contract so wondering whether we're gambling on him being able to fire us to promotion and that being worth more than we might potentially lose on his value if we have to sell next year with only one year left.

Worth remembering the firepower we assembled last time to get us out of the Championship - Deeney, Ighalo, Vydra, Forestieri is as good as a quartet as the Championship has seen I'd guess. Will need something like this again.

 

Didn't he pick up an injury late in the regular season? I know he faded towards the end after such a strong season

 

Just been reading the Real Zaragoza forum and all of there fans agree that Watford are correct in refusing to let Suarez stay after the 5th of August. The big problem and what everyone including the president is angry with is the fact there still are no dates for the play offs and because the Depor v Fuenlabrada game was postponed because 5 Fuenlabrada players were positive with COVID-19 they still don’t know which teams will be in the playoffs. Basically everyone is blaming the Spanish football league. The only other interesting thing I have read is that Suarez himself has said he will play in the playoffs even if he has to go against orders from WFC.

 

That'll end well when it gets them booted from the play offs for fielding an illegal player and lands him a huge fine.

Clearly nonsense and he obviously can't do it. But doesn't bode well for us, sounds like he'll be really pissed off with us for denying him this chance.
