Aberdeen versus Kilmarnock and the big face-off between Hoban and Bachmann has failed miserably.
Hoban not named in the match day 18 while Bachmann is only on the bench.

Hoban's out with a long term injury... Saw another tweet that said he needed surgery but can't find it again.

Think Sinclair and Hoban (as mentioned above) are injured. Oulare probably as well.

Marreh only just joined Eupen so was unlikely to play.

Not great for the others though

Williams Velasquez only joined Sabadell this week too so is in the same position as Marreh I guess.
Still, on the up side there are another eight games on Sunday to see what happens. Even they haven't started well though with Eduardo Montenegro (19) not in the Envigado match squad either. I'll try and update in the evening if I've time.

Welcome to La Liga. Anyone think we will see him for at least 1 season in the Prem?
Should be a no brainier for him but would we sell before putting him in the shop window that is the Prem?

Just read about him on wiki and transfermarkt. So far his career seems the "perfect typical Pozzo's signing".
    - Bought by Granada from an obscure second tier Colombian team for 270k£ when he was 17YO.
    - Sent immediately on loan to strongest first tier Columbian team for one year.
Good: because he stays "at home" (being so young), yet begins to feel the atmosphere of top football.
    - When 18YO goes from Granada to WFC and on loan to mid-strenght second tier Spanish team.
Good: no language problems, he begins to "learn" European football, he begins to accumulate the two years of residence in Spain that can give him the Spanish passport.
Moreover he scores 16 goals and help in Huesca first promotion to first tier!
    - Left on loan to same club, for his first experience in EU first tier.

His market value according to transfermarkt is already 4.5M£, 20 times the initial transfer fee.
Next year he might have EU passport and ... "IF" he goes on well and has the right mindset he might grow on.

Ideally, he could then spend 2 years on loan to Udinese, learning how to cope with the most shrewd and experienced defenders in Europe.
(Believe me. I follow serie A and Premier. If a striker learns against serie A defenders, after that Premier's average defenders are a piece of cake)
Then finally a couple of years at WFC in the best football shopping window in the world, before being sold for gazillions£ to a top club.

So far, his career track is perfect.
Let's hope it continues this way and he has more the mind like Alexis Sanchez (examplary Pro) than like many others of the past who "lost" themselves after the first glimpses of success.

Is Seria A still rated as the best defensive league in football? Every game I have watched it looks very average.
Drop a mid table side from the prem into most other top divisions in the world and I expect them to compete for a top 4 spot.

Not so sure, about your last statement.
The serious top divisions in the world are just 5: Spanish Liga, English Premier, German Bundesliga, Italian serie A, French Ligue1.
Pros and cons for all of them, but they are all good. Premier and Liga are on top, but the other 3 leagues are no piece of cake.

I agree that serie A games look very average, they are certainly very far from the show that I appreciate watching in Premier.
But the problem is that in serie A, ALL the defences are usually VERY strong.
    It's in our footballish DNA.
A very famous football journalist (Gianni Brera) wrote, many years ago, that the perfect match is a 0-0, because it means that there were no defensive mistakes.

So, even if serie A is certainly much less interesting to view than Premier, believe me: if a striker learns against serie A defenders, he'll probably learn a lot about his job.

I definitely don't agree that any midtable Prem side would compete for top 4 in most other top divisions, but I also believe that Ligue Un is a slight step down from the other 'big four'. Germany, Spain, Italy and England are definitely the strongest leagues, and France is slightly above the closest challengers like Portugal and Russia, but in its own netherworld nonetheless.

My mistake re. Sinclair and his penalty take.
I followed it live on the Sporting Life site and I either mis-read/missed his penalty or they changed the text at some point. Most likely to be the former to be honest.

Apologies Jerome and thanks for correcting my erroneous fact Teide1.

It’s always a better day when I read a Sherlock post.

On another thread, we were debating whether Gino would sell a minority share of WFC.

Any thoughts on whether that is in line with the Pozzo mentality?

The above post, it has to be said, is full of horse ****.

As has been noted, Sinclair DID score a penalty in the Sunderland/Stoke shoot-out.
The other mistake - who the hell is Randell Williamson?!? It should of course read Randell Williams.
