Luis Suarez scored his 11th of the season as Real Valladolid B won 1-0 to confirm they've avoided relegation from the Segunda B Division. Definitely our most successful loan there, would guess that the experiment with loaning them six players won't be repeated but they might want him back for their first team next season.
Michael Folivi starting for Boreham Wood in their National League Play-Off final against Tranmere at Wembley today. Kick-off 3pm.
With an equaliser from a player loosely linked with us in January: http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/bruno-andrade.54143/ Tranmere are down to ten men and have made all three subs in the first half. Surely the Wood can't mess this up... can they?
The good ones will never join so won't play for us The bad ones will join but never play for us #watfordloans
Zarate scored again last night, 8 in 12 now in the Argentinian league. He gave an interview last week saying that it might be difficult to stay at Velez Sarsfield as they can't afford him and he's got other offers. He did rule out coming back to us though, which is good of him.
A hidden Pozzo loanee. Apparently we own Darwin Machis, a 25 year old Venezuelan full international who has been on loan at Granada and has scored 12 goals in 30 starts this season in the Segunda Division. Seems to be a left sided attacker. https://www.vavel.com/es/futbol/201...arwin-machis-todo-esta-en-nuestras-manos.html He's scored some very, very good goals this season (have to click through to YouTube to watch them for copyright reasons):
Just noticed the cheeky nutmeg on Hornets legend Marco Motta in the second of those goals. Hard to believe that many players have scored three better goals all in one season.
I don´t know if you will be able to watch the match in the uk tomorrow, I´m sure there must be someone streaming it but if Huesca win they will be promoted to the top division for the first time in their history.
It's being shown on Freesport at 1030pm for anyone who wants to see what Cucho Hernandez is all about...
It appears that when Gino sold Granada, his investment fund didn't give up the rights to all the players. I think third party ownership was banned a while back so it appears that the players that Gino wanted to keep hold of were given what the Spanish press described as "bridging contracts" with Watford that seem to be like we have bought them and then sent them all out on loan with options to buy. According to this article, in addition to Darwin Machis, Gino also retained the rights to: Hongla, Clifford, Denilson, Galeano, Navarette, Corozo and two youth team players that sound like a cheesy magic double act - Juergen and Franklin. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/granadacf.ideal.es/machis-ultimos-gino-20171119010509-nt_amp.html If I can be bothered I might try to find out a bit more about them - the only name I recognise is Hongla as he broke into Granada's first team last season and performed quite well. He's now on loan at Barcelona B with an option to buy as far as I can work out.
Huesca promoted. Cucho not on the score sheet in this game. Will be interesting to see what he can do next season in La Liga if we can’t get him over here.
Much rather we can get him over here, I reckon he might just be the real deal and exactly what we are looking for. Has he made his countries world cup squad? Because if he has I reckon that might just be enough for us to get him a work permit to play for us.
Number of Pozzo players (X) can be derived by the following equation. X = w+u+l+(y+1) w = number of Watford players u = Udinese players l = loans y = Unknown number of other players which is always one more than at first believed. As y is unknown and always variable it follows that the actual number of Pozzo players can never be known.
Unless y is a negative number such that X is less than 1, in which case the Pozzos have sold up and gone to live in Gateshead or somewhere.
Mauro Zarate had a good half season in Argentina, scoring 8 in 12. Velez Sarsfield are struggling to afford the 1.7 million euro fee that we've asked for plus his salary and he has offers on the table from other Argentinian clubs. He said in a recent interview that he wasn't sure where he'd end up but the only thing he knew for certain was he had no intention of coming back to Watford. Thanks for the memories for those two and half games Mauro, legend.
If he's got offers from other Argentinian clubs - leverage him for one of their younger starts in there team, e.g Tripichio @ Velez or Martinez Quarta @ River Plate.
That sounds like a plan Aymondo. There might well be an Argentinian club that would be willing to trade a couple of young talented potential stars for an experienced and established star, at least in Argentine football, such as Zarate, and subsequentley we could end up with a couple of gems for the future.
