  1. Yes, but due to an inclination to bore the entire forum with dogged persistence when faced with poorly constructed arguments, I have chosen to ignore members who argue like ****s, rather than being drawn into protracted, repetetive spats, as I used to on too many occassions. I like Ross, I even like HB1, but I have found my life, and the lives of other members, passes far more easily if I utilise the very underused facilities of this excellent forum, to avoid their brand of reasoning.

Mixed bag this weekend for our loan rangers:

Amrabat played and was subbed off injured at half time as Leganes lost 2-1 to Sevilla. Luckily it doesn't sound too serious and he might make it back for next weekend. Here's an article on how he's been settling in: https://www.talkinglaliga.com/singl...-his-Málaga-years-after-a-summer-of-rejection

Penaranda played the full game as Malaga won 2-1 against Celta Vigo to record their first victory of the season. Looks like he played as a central striker this week and there's a fair amount of praise for his performance from the Malaga fans, saying that all that was missing was a goal.

Pantilimon was an unused sub for Deportivo again and it seems that after a run of a few games a month back, he's now firmly their number 2. Dimitri Foulquier played 120 minutes for Strasbourg in the French cup midweek but picked up an injury that ruled him out of this weekend's game. Obbi Oulare is out for two months, having just come back from another injury and managing only two games.

Mauro Zarate made his third appearance for Al Nasr in Dubai. He hasn't scored yet, his team are 5th out of 12 and he's being managed by Cesare Prandelli who I'm sure we were linked with at some point or another.

Cucho Hernandez played the full game as Huesca were held 0-0 by Albacete. Huesca are 4th in the Segunda Division, three points off the lead. Here's an article on his time so far at Huesca: https://colfootball.wordpress.com/2017/10/22/huesca-is-in-love-with-el-cucho/

Pervis Estupinan played 75 minutes as Almeria lost 2-0 to Sporting Gijon. I can only presume that the guy whose position he took is Almeria's cult hero, as their fans seem to absolutely hate poor old Pervis. I was intrigued so watched the brief highlights and doubt he will have endeared himself any more by playing someone onside and then making a half-baked attempt to stop the cross that led to the first goal.

Sulayman Marreh played 90 minutes in midweek as Real Valladolid lost to Leganes (without Amrabat and several other first teamers) in the Copa del Rey. He got some positive reviews from the fans but didn't make the squad again for this weekend's game.

Real Valladolid B drew 1-1 with Toledo but remain at the bottom of their regional Segunda B division. Jorge Segura and Luis Suarez started; Alvarado, Becerra and Velasquez came on as subs and Montenegro was an unused sub. Our loan players are starting to feature more regularly which is an improvement on earlier on in the season.

Matheus Aias played 70 minutes for Fuenlabrada as they beat Cerceda 1-0. They're second in their Segunda B division, level on points at the top. They also lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey in midweek but Aias didn't feature. He did, however, get his first goal in the previous league match last weekend. Matheus Santana is not getting on so well at UCAM Murcia - he's only played 70 minutes and hasn't even made the matchday squad for 6 weeks after being injured. He's on his way back though as this exciting tweet shows #sambaiscoming: https://twitter.com/UCAMMurciaCF/status/923212825857855488

Kingsley Fobi played the full game as Formentera held Mallorca 1-1 in the Balearic derby in their regional Segunda B. Mallorca are the runaway leaders of this division, which came as a bit of a surprise to me as I thought they were in La Liga rather than the third tier! Fobi also played the full 90 in midweek as Formentera drew 1-1 in the Copa del Rey against Atletico Bilbao and seems to have nailed down the right back spot.

Dennon Lewis was an unused sub alongside ex Hornet Josh Doherty as Harry Kewell's Crawley drew 1-1 with Lincoln City. Sam Howes played in goal as Hampton and Richmond won 3-1 against Bath City to go to 10 games unbeaten.

And finally... the update that everyone has been waiting for... the first thing I've found anywhere on Strahinja Karisic, the young Serbian that we've loaned to Fluminense in Brazil to play in their u20 team. Some Fluminense fan asked an account on Twitter that follows their youth teams how Karisic was getting on and got the reply "Fez bons jogos" which apparently translates as "Made good games", so make of that what you will.

Don't take everything at face value . It was a joke .

Why would I question that ?

I hope Penaranda was correct in thinking he will receive Spanish citizenship before 2018 and that we recall him and use him here.

Success doesn’t have the required professionalism (or talent either based on the last 12 months!) and while Richarlison made a terrific start we can’t expect him to perform miracles all season. Another livewire wonderkid in the squad would be excellent.

Penaranda has really knuckled down this season apparently. I wonder if the club have told him that getting his passport doesn't automatically mean he'll come here so he has a season to prove he should join us next season.

  8. Yeah. Still, if it avoids excessive bullspooh postings from either them or myself, which was the point of doing it, it's probably a good thing.

I'd have no problem with anyone saying the same thing about me, and I'm very happy for anyone to ignore me if they don't like the way I argue. With many people on here, it seems more about who is going to read the post than expressing an opinion or maintaining a cohesive argument.

In keeping with the result against Everton, it's been a fairly rubbish week for the loanees.

Amrabat, Foulquier and Oulare were all injured. Pantilimon conceded an injury time goal from a free kick as Deportivo lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid. He has at least started the last two games after playing on Monday night too, but this goal went in his side rather than the wall's and wasn't in the corner either so it'll be interesting to see if he keeps his place next week. Penaranda played as Malaga lost 2-0 at Villareal and although the fans thought he played ok, there are a lot of comments about him not being suited to play as number 9.

Zarate continues to set the Gulf league alight, completing his fourth game without scoring, this time in the big Al Nasr-Al Wasl derby. Zarate was so influential he wasn't even mentioned in the match report, despite playing the whole game upfront. I did at least learn that the Al Wasl fans mock the Al Nasr fans by calling them The Penguins as their ground is next to a water park with lots of plastic penguins - so hopefully Mauro is enjoying the great banter out there in the Gulf to go with his fat pay cheque.

Pervis Estupinan was an unused sub for Almeria and Sulayman Marreh wasn't in the Valladolid squad. Valladolid B drew 0-0 against Fuenlabrada with four of our loan players starting - Alvarado, Montenegro, Suarez and Velazquez. Becerra was on the bench for Valladolid but didn't get on, Matheus Aias came on as a late sub for Fuenlabrada who are top of the league, whilst Watford B are rooted to the bottom. Kingsley Fobi played the whole game as Formentera won 1-0 vs Lleida and also started in midweek against Valencia B. Matheus Santana still isn't fit enough to feature for Murcia.

Dennon Lewis was an unused sub as Crawley lost 2-1 to Wigan and Sam Howes kept a clean sheet as Hampton and Richmond won 1-0 vs Chippenham to move to 11 games unbeaten in the league.

And finally, Cucho Hernandez should be playing tomorrow evening in the big Aragonese derby of Huesca vs Zaragoza. It's the Monday night televised match on Spanish TV so it shouldn't be too hard to find online if anyone wants to see what all the fuss is about. Huesca could go top if they win by a big margin, and replace our erstwhile brothers Granada, who are having a bit of a resurgence now that Tony Adams isn't involved.

    Hi Jim

I hope this finds you well as I have yet to receive a reply to my previous correspondence sent to yourself.

I have heard that the club are urging Peñaranda to apply in January so that he can have a go at getting into the squad during the second half of the season. I suppose that means he will be needing to prove himself in order to stay, but by actually appyling himself with us rather than on loan to Huesca, who I have heard are interested.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks

    Tim

Another two goals for Cucho Hernandez, first one a sharp finish, second an absolute belter:

    https://twitter.com/furkan31yolcu/status/927652934145511425

That's seven goals and three assists in fourteen games for a team at the top of the second tier in Spain. At 18 years old.

Twitter is awash with Spanish football fans singing his praises and predicting that he'll be a superstar. I'd be surprised if there aren't some big bids this summer if he carries on like this.

I suspect that Gino will want him to play for us before we think of selling him. He does look very decent in the clips I’ve seen and looks a little like Aguero in the way he plays.

Hopefully Huesco get promoted this season and he can have a season in La Liga with a team he's settled with.

End of next season we sell Richarlison for 50 mill and this lad replaces him .

Great to see that the ultimate Pozzo vision is starting to take shape this season. Get up, stay up, develop. Everyone in the world has heard of Richarlison now and we'll pick up the reputation for developing stars.

If he carries on this way, I'd rather he just comes to us. His record for the Colombian u20 team is about the same as Richarlison's was for Brazil and Colombia are inside the top 20 of the world rankings so he'd have a fair chance of getting through the work permit process as an exceptional talent. There are growing calls for him to get called up to the senior squad to have a look at him with a view to seeing if he's ready to go to the World Cup too. He's 18 and already has 34 goals in senior club football - if he's good enough, he's old enough!

Yeah thats the great thing about Richarlison doing well, as it will mean the better young South Americans will be thinking I can go to Chelsea like Kenedy and struggle for first team football or go to Watford and make a name for myself.

If anything I think the first goal is the better: It may look bread and butter, but he was very sharp and got across the defender well and stuck it in the corner. An in the box strikers goal. The long shot the defenders stood off him.

Ive seen him so score many different types of goals now. Long shots, Free kicks, scrappy poachers goals, bullying strength 'DeeneyType goals.

Has he scored a mazy dribbliing type of goal yet SLB ? Probably the only missing one.

  28. Steve Leo Beleck

Haven't seen any goals like that but he can definitely dribble - there's a few occasions where he does it in this video, including one where he goes on a long run before getting an assist (about 6 mins in). He also scores a great header direct from a corner despite only being 5'9". He really looks like a good all round player in the highlights from this game - he tackles back, he's fast and strong, can pick a pass, dribble and most importantly, finish.

Also, worth revisiting this video and bearing in mind that he is a 16 year old playing in senior football in most of the clips. Even taking into account that it's the Colombian version of the Championship, it's pretty impressive viewing. His footballing intelligence then is so far ahead of Success and Penaranda's now...
