Hardly his fault for not scoring against Arsenal last week.

Ha! If it goes to 90+6 no doubt the victimised Scousers will throw a wobbler and start bellyaching about disrespect and Bob Marley t-shirts or something ...

Handed back my ticket in case anyone wants a spare. I don’t have the seat number with me right now but I’ll give it in about an hour in case anyone’s interested

That t shirt is offensive to everyone as it's basically ****.

  6. KelsoOrn

    KelsoOrn Squad Player

Agreed. But only the victimised Scousers want it banned. Topman's reaction should have been 'f.ck off you self indulgent *****. It's obviously a Marley reference'. I wish I'd got one. Size 3X. Wear it outside the Liver Building and down the Cavern Club.

Their city is basically a sh.t-hole. And that's mostly their fault.

so you decided you couldn't make the train? you would have easily made it for what its worth.

I’m not usually sympathetic to their whining but to be fair a red t-shirt with 96 and the word “karma” on the sleeve probably isn’t great!

  10. KelsoOrn

But it's got nothing to do with them! Can't they see that ffs?

Have you genuinely ever heard of that song? It's not exactly no woman no cry is it. Very odd decision by topman to design something like that, think it's innocent but can absolutely see why it would piss people off.

    Absolutely, nail on the head.

It's just beyond a ******* joke now, cannot believe all the media attention it got too. Russians murdering people on our soil, terror bomb makers being sentenced etc... and half the ******* news is taken up because a shirt dares to have 96 written on it nearly 30 years after a sad event in a sport completely unrelated to clothing lines and/or Bob Marley songs.

Sell the shirt and if you don't like it don't ******* buy it but don't try and pretend it's anything but a shirt. ******* endless misery.

I just re-watched Mooney scoring in our Anfield win in those glorious crowd shots of totally stunned Liverpudlians.

Oh how I wish that would happen tomorrow with Okaka smashing it in off the bar.

No offence, but it would have helped greatly if you'd posted and convinced me of that earlier, not to mention others for whom this thread was specifically created and apart from the title should have been blindingly obvious to everyone, not least the mods, that it was not intended to be a match-day thread! Ah well, what's done is done.

It just seemed a bit risky without leaving the game before the final whistle. Being conservative, say we have a total of 5 minutes' injury time (1 minute first half, 4 minutes 2nd) plus the usual 15 minutes of half time, the match ends 19:20. Not having been to Anfield before, I'm guessing it being a big stadium it will take 3 minutes to get out. That leaves 25 minutes to get to the train, less given they usually close the doors at least 2 minutes before departure, and there could be a long queue. Walking at a normal pace is out of the question, and with the crowds I'd have to pretty much run at full pelt for much of the way, which I'm not fit and willing enough to do.

That leaves a bus or taxi. A taxi is probably the best chance as they can take the quickest route, but how easy is it to catch a taxi just outside the stadium with tens of thousands of fans around, and are they that frequent? Bus could be a bit slow with the traffic and everyone getting on (assuming I can get into the first one) - I remember it taking a fair while on the People's Bus from Everton back to Lime Street and that is only half a mile further away.

The other option is simply to leave a few minutes early - but suppose we are drawing/losing by one goal and get a crucial goal or more in the dying minutes? Wouldn't want to miss that for the world, might as well stay and watch the whole match at home. On the other hand, that doesn't mean I'm prepared to be stuck in or travelling back from Liverpool all night because of the risk of me missing the train/it actually happening.

I presume you've been to Anfield before, so can you reassure me ahead of future trips that the trip back to the station is as quick as you make out? Not that I think we're going to have it at such an inconvenient time again, but then I thought the same thing about Stoke away...

Right now Google earth says 41 min (2 miles) to walk from Anfield to Lime St. Station and that's from the south end and at 06.10 in the morning. The away end is on Anfield Road to the north. So further away. All that information is easily obtainable. So it seems pretty clear to me that without asking anyone else at all it's obvious that you would never have made it through a football crowd. Not even close. Bus or taxi? Forget it. The fact that no-one else has indicated they're on that train suggests they agree.

So you could have left early, stayed in Scouseland or travelled overnight. The sun would still have been rising in the east this time tomorrow.

What if you had received advice in advance that you could make it and then didn't? Would you have blamed the provider of that advice for your inconvenience?

If we get tonked today, it won’t be so bad if three teams below us lose before our game. We should still be 9 points clear going into the two week break before we kick Muff’s arse at the Vic.

    Just keep that in mind....

    Maybe.

Yeah, we’re 10th now, it would be nice to still be at least 10th at the end of the day.

I’m always an optimist and think we’ll nick it 2-1. Richarlison and Hughes.

The scowsers discuss how good these two are and how they should be signing players like that.
Klopp offers £40m for richy in the summer.

    Or the A59.

Being an A road combined with a prime number may give it the edge, comedically.

I went to that game, we got stuck in traffic twice on the way up, struggled to park as we were a bit late. Eventually dumped the car in a residents only area. Ran to the ground and we were in the turnstiles when Mooney scored. Got to see us defend for our lives for the rest of the game.

Worth it though and didn't even get done for parking.

The Hornets end their goal drought on the road in spectacular style with goals from Troy, Richarlison, Okaka, and a 40 yard dipping cross/shot from Holebas nestling into the top corner of the net, piling more misery onto the poor, long suffering inhabitants of Merseyside.

I would not be surprised if Richarlison is on the bench today. A last twenty minutes running at the Liverpool defence might see him score for the first time this year

Pffff leave 5 mins early and at a quick walk it’s a doddle. Why are you blaming me or others on the forum for your lack of attendance? You could have easily created another thread with a more accurate title? No one to blame but yourself I’m afraid mate.

Didn’t sleep a wink last night. The thought of Prodl against Liverpool’s attacking three made me repeatedly break out in a cold sweat.
There’s absolutely no point in going gung ho and getting stuffed 6-1 like last season. I’d sooner us play negative and come home with a 2-0 loss

I think we will have a complete change of tac tic today and play long. You can't afford to give the ball away in midfield, especially with a defence like ours.

Deeney, & Grey up front with Kiko and Zeegalaar out wide. A three of NDong, Doucoure & Capoue in the middle and three at the backs of Mapps, Britos and Prodl

It's going to be a case of bypass their midfield as much as possible, when we lose the ball make sure we do it in their half of the field & ten kill as much space as we can. Crowd the centre of the pitch where they are most effective and hope to get our noses in front first.

Mr HH has just described this as a "must win" for Liverpool; I think, for the sake of marital harmony, we may have to watch this in separate rooms later. Sadly, I am with the majority who suspect we are going to get a hiding. 3-1 (at least).

I had a dream last night that we won the game 4-1. So I am changing my original prediction of us winning 6-2 to 4-1. It’s going to be glorious!

We have a chance from midfield upwards . Our defence is shocking and Liverpool could easily carve us open. The good thing is that they play the ball on the ground. Any ball over 5ft would have Prodl in trouble. I have never seen such big guy so poor when it comes to winning any headers. Take a look at the highlights or close misses. How many times does Prodl not actually jump and then let the ball go over him? What is the height of his vertical jump?
Bon chance Watford. Allez le jaune.

Ha, unbelievably all was well. However on a different occasion my ex boss took his son to Anfield. Being cautious left nothing of value in the car, it got broken into and the only thing nicked was an 11 year olds latin prep book. WTF they did with that i have no idea.
