The previous Kingsley Fobi thread in the Transfer Section has been closed down so to track the movements of the 19 year old from Ghana I've started another.

Kingsley, a right back, spent last season at SD Formentera in the Spanish Segunda B (Group 3).

For the whole of 2018/19 he will be with UD Ibiza, also in Segunda B (Group 4). Vamos Ibiza! Vamos Kingsley!

Fobi, muscle for the UD Ibiza
Ghana's Under-20 international and former Formentera player is on loan from England's Watford

The UD Ibiza has obtained the cession of the right-handed Kingsley Fobi, the Ghanaian footballer who played last season in the Formentera of Second Division B. The footballer comes on loan from English Watford for this season and will strengthen with muscle and talent the right flank of the set that trains Ñoño Méndez.

Kingsley Fobi (09-20-1998, Cape Coast, Ghana) is a player with an offensive vocation who already showed signs of his great quality in Formentera, where he was also transferred last season in Second B by the British club. The U-20 international delighted the home crowd until a serious knee injury took him off the field for six months. With only 18 years old, he arrived at the pitiusa of the south coming from the Granada B, of the group IV of the bronze category of the national soccer, the same one in which the UD Ibiza has been framed.

Despite his youth, he has experience in international football and has debuted with the Ghanaian team in championships such as the African Cup or the U-20 World Cup.

Being still of minor age, his quality in defense caught the attention of the observers of the Italian Udinese Calcio, club associated with the Watford FC of the Premier League, that finally hired his services. The agreements between these clubs to make transfers of players at zero cost, as has occurred on other occasions, allowed it to end in Granada B.

Kingsley Fobi is one of the young promises of African football and now arrives at UD Ibiza on loan.

Since the August 8 was officially made his place in the bronze division of national football, the UD Ibiza has made six weighty additions: midfielders Alejandro Chavero and Martí Riverola, striker Angel Rodado and defenders Alfonso Candelas, Miguel Núñez and the newly incorporated Kingsley Fobi.

Think it got closed as we just track all the random kids we lend out, who've never appeared in the team, on the loanee thread SLB started.

No idea to the veracity of this report but Ghana Sports Centre seem confident Fobi will be part of the squad next season.
    I'll be honest, I don't believe they're correct.

They also contradict themselves by saying he's been called back to the U23 team so I'd say it's likely his latest loan came to an end and he'll be loaned out again if he's still contracted to Watford.

If his contract is up there's no doubt he'll be released.

Trust me, Fobi will 110% NOT be playing for Watford next season, unless we've been relegated to the Combined Counties League while I wasn't looking.

He's also not a defender, so that pretty much covers off that report doesn't it?

But you can never have too many right-backs.

As an addendum, I would add that Kwasi Sibo, who was with Ibiza last season (Fobi having been there the season before) is a far better player, but is still nowhere near our level. These players were never signed with the expectation that they would ever play for Watford, there's loads of them knocking around the lower divisions in Spain, earning the club loan fees.

As an addendum to the addendum, I met Fobi in the bar after an Ibiza game two years ago and he a) Couldn't speak much English, or Spanish and b) Had never been to Watford.

I remember when he was at Ibiza you were particularly scathing of him :D

He does play at right-back (and did so for Ibiza) but whether he's a good right-back is open to interpretation.

He didn't play right back, he played a sort of right wing-back on occasions, but mostly came on as sub and played right midfield. What had did this past season for Badajoz, I can't say.

Fair enough. I thought I remembered him as an attacking right-back in a back 4 from the couple of times I saw him play.
