Well done you Pozzo's for getting in early.

After a full debut like that, Real Madrid normally go in. I mean... we may never see this guy play for us if he carries on like this.

Strong possibility. Either way he will either make a lot of money for the Pozzos which will help with other signings even if we don't get to use him.

How annoying is it that Brazilian commentators have to shout "gooooooooooaaaaaaal" after every single goal?

    Seriously South America, stop it.

Oh my. I try not to get too carried away, but this guy looks the real deal.

Hope we get him for at least a season before he's prized away to sit on the bench in the European Super League

He looks like he would be a capable bench warmer, ready to step in whenever Hughsey needs a rest from the demanding right wing position.

Looks more like a decent replacement for Amrabat to me. AT LAST.

Arrives just in time for the cold winter months!

Or rather the start of another FA Cup run..

Richarlison scored 19 goals in 67 games for Flu, JP has 7 in 10. Ricky had 2 in 8 for Brazil U20. So if JP keeps scoring and gets into an underage Brazil team he has a chance. Ironically the bargain price could count against us.

It's being reported by Globo, the biggest media organisation in Brazil, that Fluminese can get out of the deal if they pay a €20m fine. However that kind of gives us a €20m head start so if a bigger team offer €30m, Fluninese would make more money if we offered €11m.

We either get a good player or £20m for nothing. The Pozzo’s are incredible.

That's if they've actually got £20m. Didn't they only sign him over to us in the first place because they were desperate for cash advances on the Richarlison deal? Could get messy and protracted if FIFA has to wade in.

€ not £ but I guess the Euro might b worth more than the pound in September. I'd imagine if they sell him to another club for more they can use that money to pay us. I dont care about the money, I just wanna c him in a Watford shirt!

Fluminense are a poor Brazilian club financially. If correct, the structure of this deal from our side of things has been favourable to them, even if they do lose Joao Pedro at the end of it. I would suspect there is a sell-on too...

In black and white, we’d be expecting either Fluminense or the new buying club to be paying us an extra €20m on top of any fee. I just can’t see it. I also don’t think Watford will have been as vocal publicly about buying him and showing off on social media if there was a chance we could be gazumped.

Also, we seem to have a decent relationship with the selling club. Is it in their interest to ruin that?

Only danger is the buzz around the boy grows more and more - then I think the chances of the above might increase. Real Madrid have snapped up Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo for big money - if this lad is the real deal, and the clause is active, they wouldn’t think twice.

One of the world’s best 18/19 yr old strikers coming to Watford when bigger clubs are queuing up? They’d find a way to nudge us out of the way.

Well......I was thinking getting £20m out of Fluminense…...good luck with that, but if they get £30m from Liverpool or such club, I think FIFA would ensure their obligation is directed to Watford, for a brown envelope backhander of course.

That would be a mental scenario that would probably be unprecedented in world football. As much as I'd like to see the lad in Watford colours, £20m profit for a player that we haven't paid a penny in wages for really wouldn't be bad going.

  33. All you do is take the £20M they will pay to buy out, add £10M and hey presto you have a bid of £30M for the cost of £10M :)

Loved Amrabat. 110% perspiration, minus 10% inspiration. Best player for his country in the World Cup, but that wasn't saying much. Never seemed to get a lucky break.

Gino went to Harvard Business School. His Dad has been in the football transfer game for many years. They often seem to be out guessing the direct competition and giving the monied giants something to think about.
