Rumoured to be going to B. Dortmand on loan with option to make permanent. Do we have a sell on clause?
I think if moves are made via EPPP (which Sancho was) then it's 20% (not entirely sure on that though!)
Never heard of him. Sometimes I think we are 50% commodity brokers and 50% a football club. If it makes a few bob, no harm, I suppose.
We sadly didn't have a choice in the matter, he was a 14 year old academy prospect that Man City pinched off us. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...tarlet_be_the_one_that_got_away_for_Watford_/ (that article also suggests the sell on fee is 10%)
Apparently he's been skipping training in protest about not being included in Citeh's first team squad.
Dodged a bullet then. We'll take the 20% sell-on, of a fee more than 5x what we could have got outselves because we're a 'small' club.
Not really, no. We managed to sell Ashley Young for £10mil 10 years ago, to a club like Villa, even before the current bonkers transfer fees for young English talent. By all accounts Sancho is at least as good a prospect as Young was, so unless Dortmund are buying him for over £50mil, which is unlikely considering his age, then we've lost out.
The Sun (yeah I know) claimed it was an eight figure fee (though perhaps that is with add-ons). But either way we should be getting about £2mil from this. It's alright, but not great for a player who could feasibly sell for 10-20X that in a few years.
Metro put the fee at 8 million this morning. Citee have inserted their own substantial sell-on fee. I thought our sell-on fee was only 10 per cent, making our cut 800k sterling and not 2 million. Happy to be corrected. Great talent and could become big in Germany.
He'll be in the England U21 set up soon. Expect to see him in the grown ups before the next Euro championships
I've monitored his progress since he left us. He has all the talent in the world, and seems very determined to have both high quality training and first team football. Angel Gomes (Man Utd) and him are probably England's two most exciting talents.
It's going to be funny/odd/amusing to have a senior England international called 'Angel Gomes'. Extremely anachronistic lined up next to our Erics and Arrehs and Johns.
