Is it our turn to go down?

I thought (and said) we could get something from the match if we returned to our competitive form pre-Bournemouth. Of course it turned out better than any of us expected. Deeney's injury forced Javi to be bold. With a fluid frontline we suddenly had options again. Will Javi stick or twist this weekend selection wise?

Las Rambla is sooo early 21st century! The Parade is where to be seen these days. Why sit by the Med when you can sit by the Pond.

    Exactly.

And don’t forget the W Herts separatists.

Who doesn’t want to be rid of E Herts?

Spot on. I was looking at a map of hertfordshire the other day, and I realised I've never even heard of half the redneck hillbilly crapholes out east.

Puckeridge? Dane End? Watton at Stone? Throcking? Offley Hoo? It's like places out of Lord of the Rings. Just Throck off eh.

All that would fit much better into West Essex.

I went for a nice Sunday lunch with my uncle and aunt in a bucolic village in West Essex a couple of years ago.

The pub landlord was very definitely a Spuds fan.

Stevo, HH24, Knight GT & I (& maybe some unknown others) are the Buckinghamshire Brigade.

Our plan is to seed turmoil between the two parts of Herts, with a view to relocating the Horns to Gerrards Cross.

I'm a Bucks boy too. Work in Herts, like a migrant steeling the locals jobs and sending the money back to Bucks.

  19. Here in Middlesex, I can't believe how few hornets I see getting on the train at Harrow & Wealdstone. I can't help but think it is an underexploited market. 9km /5.5 miles from H&W to VR.

I moved from Bucks to Herts without moving houses. And no, I don't live in a mobile home.
But born and bred in West Watford, within sound of the football matches.

Pah, it's all about the Hartwell Estate. We are virtually Fairford Leys. Maybe.

At school in Harrow me and my mate were the only 2 Watford in a sea of QPR fans. Who's laughing now eh?

It never ceases to amaze me h0w many homes they’ve managed to fit into Fairford Leys. Never seen so many houses built so close to one another. Perhaps it’s simply a result of living in Houston, but driving around Fairford Leys this summer was almost claustrophobic.

Side note. Saw you mentioned lack of decent pubs on another thread. Had an enjoyable couple pints in The Kings Head on a warm July night earlier this summer. Broad Leys and Bricklayers Arms didn’t do me any harm either from my Turnfurlong base, but might be a bit out of your way.

Fairford Leys looks like it should be on a biscuit tin at first glance it is that pretty. However on second glance, it's quite badly designed. The houses are tiny and there are hardly any front gardens.

Is the King's Head the one in the town centre? The Broad Leys is a decent pub and I have been meaning to go into the Bricklayers but as you said they arebt exactly local to me. The nearest pub I have is the Honeybee, the less said about that the better.

Yeah, Kings Head is in the town center, down a side street at the top of the market square. Old place, with some decent local stuff to on tap and nice sausage rolls. Some old weirdos in there though, if memory serves.

Bricklayers is alright, decent outdoor space when the weather is nice.

Are there even any other pubs over that way? Is Bugle Horn still a thing?

Bugle Horn is still a thing, I'm quite close to it, but a chain food pub these days. You can just go for a beer and indeed I met a mate there a couple of weeks ago but not what you would call a locals pub. Couple of decent real ales though. Think the Honeybee is a modern estate version of the Bugle Horn.

Tend to drink in the Sun in Haddenham but does require a cab, decent beer though.

Has the going down referred to in this thread's title changed to beer?
I was in Stafford last year and went to a pub serving a local brew called Titanic Ale. I asked the barman if it was called that because it went down well. He gave me a funny look.
