I'm not risking a correct score bet but I reckon our "great start" will see wolves at around evens to win outright. It's free money!

Apart from that Bournemouth defeat, we have looked good in nearly all our matches. This tells me we are able to produce consistent performances which will lead to good results.

Hopefully we'll beat Huddersfield on Saturday. If that's the case, then we'll have 19 points from 10 games. That half the points total needed to stay up from about a quarter of the matches played.

It would be a long shot to expect any club in that position to end up relegated, unless something unforeseen occurs which will dramatically change their fortunes.

So, with all being equal, Watford should finish at least mid-table, if not higher if we bring in some additional talent in the January window.

You are forgetting that we down tools as soon as we get to about 35 points before limping over the line. Jan to May won't be a lot of fun.

We played well at Wolves because it was warm and sunny. No coincidence that our best ever start matches exactly with our best ever summer. What was the weather like against Bournemouth? Oh yes, wet and very cold and we absolutely bombed.
